Chapter Eight

*Day Four

I got through an entire day - 23 missed calls and 13 ignored messages later - without giving any attention to Pete what so ever. He eventually left a voice mail... which I also (with a hell of a lot of self control) ignored. After yesterday's call to my house, I left for town to do some shopping because I knew he'd turn up if I didn't answer his calls - and he did. Maria entertained him for a good five hours or so before he had to leave for his flight.

To be honest, I felt extremely bad for doing so. Now... now it was time for step five - don't carve out time for him. With him being away, I figured it would be a piece of pie... boy was I wrong.

Curiosity screwed me over and I decided to run through his texts at around three PM, just before I had to get ready for band practice at the studio.

Msg 1:
Hey Jennybear. Still have a couple of hours to burn. Starbucks or Cinimax? ;)

Msg 2:
Uhm so... I'm drinking my pumpkin spice latte on my own - can't get you out of my mind though ♡

Msg 3:
Come on Jen. I'm dying to see you before I go. Please-

Msg 4:
Are you still mad at me about the other night? :(

Msg 5:
Starting to worry now... where are you?

Msg 6:
Jen... Jen... JEN!! Are you ok? Did something happen? Should I come over?

Msg 7:
Ok... I'll relax. :) probably just overreacting. Miss you ♥

How about the 2pm movie? I think it's some chick flick you'd like :p

He sounded pretty passed off with the last message, but I still couldn't believe the words of the first song. Did he really love me that much? Did he really regret choosing Fall Out Boy over me back in Chicago when we were together back in college? Was this all worth it? I don't know. I really just wished I could go back in time and fix everything before it fell apart in the first place. But we were young and naive - we didn't know better. I sit down on my couch, debating whether I should listen to his voicemail or just relax with some tv to keep my kind occupied. I decided on switching the TV on, laying down as I clutched the scatter cushion under my head.

Flight 296 from Los Angeles to Chicago crashed minutes after lift off late yesterday evening. It was believed that the engines malfunctioned, igniting the first engine and causing the plain to rappidly loose altitude and crash into a nearby deserted area along the interstate. Famous rock star, Pete Wentz, was believed to be amoung the many passengers upon this flight. No news of survivors have been reported as yet. We will keep you updated.
