Chapter 1: Cat and Mouse

First Person

The silent humming of the hyperspace rang in my ear for hours. Along came also the shinning blue light that I could see through the front window of Venetors bridge.  A was a sight I was used to through the years of service to the republic.

My gaze focused into the endless blue as we made our way to our destination. Christophsis. A resource-rich planet currently under siege by the Separatist. I have been assigned to this opperation to assist the jedi generals in liberating the planet from the separatist bombardment. I was sent together with the jedi-Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The first objective was to break through the blockade established by the CIS. Kenobis former padawan,  jedi-Knight Anakin Skywalker, was sent first and wait for us to reinforce his fleet.

I am not assigned to any major role in breaking the blockade. Instead I would be sent down to the surface to give at least some form of help to our struggling allies.

For this mission I have been given my standard gear for field mission like this. This consisted of my uniform, a black and gray camouflage jacket and pants. Along came a belt with multiple pouches as well as two holster. One for my DC-17 pistol, a blaster that is being carried normally by ARC troopers and one for my combat knife. Over my shoulder hangs my NT-242 sniper rifle through its sling. Its a heavy long-range blaster composed of a long barrel with cooling fins and a dual sniper zoom for better long-range engagements, all combined in a robust and heavy design. In case that I would encounter enemy vehicles on the ground I equipped it with a disruptor shot modification.

"We are approaching the Christophsis system."

I heard one of the navigators call from his trench. I took this as my call to turn around and walk towards the command center. As the massive steel doors open the humming of the hyperspace went silent.

???: "Looks like General Skywalker has already engaged the enemy."

I heard a voice as I entered the room. This belonged to commander Cody, the highest ranking clone officer of the 212th clone battalion. His phase one clone amour is marked with the color of his legion accompanied with the necessary additions that comes with being a clone commander.

???: "That's nothing out of the ordinary. Especially since I gave him a direct order not to."

A second voice came from the person next to Cody. This was of course no one else except general Kenobi. He is a Jedi-Master from the Jedi Order with ginger hair and beard. He wears parts of a clone amor on top of his jedi robe.

I made my way towards the holotable. As I stood across Cody and Kenobi they looked over to me with Kenobi being the first to speak.

Obi-Wan: "Good you could join us, (Y/N). I wanted to call you to brief you on our situation."

(Y/N): "Of course. I want to know what I get myself into."

I looked down at the holotable . It displayed the space around Christophis with a massive separatist fleet portrayed in red in front of it. Opposite of it are the Venators and convoys from Skywalkers task force. Something was of to me though.

(Y/N): "Correct me if I am but weren't there supposed to be three convoys?"

I looked back up to see the face of Obi-Wan. His expression gave me all the answer I needed.

(Y/N): "Ok. Can you at least tell me how I will be able to even get close to this blockade to get to the surface?"

In response the jedi crossed his arms and gained a smug look.
