Chapter 2

Lucas :

We've arrived at the palace of king Lorenzo
And to say the palace is beautiful would be an understatement

It looked right out of a fairytale
It was gigantic and marvelous
I bet the ones who built it were paid billions

The gates to the palace opened as soon as the guards saw us , they bowed and my mother gave them a small nod , telling them to rise

My big brother seemed like he had a problem with everything
He had a quarrel with mom just this morning and now he's giving those guards a death stare as we walk in

The poor guards didn't dare to rise their heads up even after mother gave them the permission

'' Brother , stop staring at the guards, you're scaring them ''

'' That's good , they should know not to disrespect me even though i am just their princess's fiance ''

'' You are trying to make a problem out of nothing
So what if they know us as the soon to be husbands of their princesses ?
That's still quite a high title considering we're only the princes of a small kingdom that's completely useless at the given moment ''

'' Lucas , are you f*cking serious ?
No matter how small our kingdom was , the title of prince will always be greater than some woman's husband ''

'' A princess's husband , not some ordinary woman
Might i add , princess of the current strongest and biggest kingdom ''

'' You would think i give two sh*ts about its reputation ''

My brother walked away in a completely different direction from us
I tried following him but mom pulled me back

'' Lucas , let it go
Give him some time alone
You know how much he loved our kingdom
It's not about the title , he just doesn't like it here '' my mother said

'' I know , mom
But we've barely stepped foot here
And he has already started complaining
It's not that he doesn't like it here
He doesn't want to like it here ''

'' Indeed , brother is quite stubborn
Resembles dad a lot for that matter '' Astrick

'' Hey , if he heard you
You're dead ''

As we were talking , we were greeted by a few maids
They accompanied us and showed our way to our rooms

We'll meet the king and queen after we have settled our belongings properly

And about my brother....
My mother had told the maids to greet him after some time
He'll need some time alone before he talks like a decent person

I started placing some of my novels and books that i had brought from Patricia on the desk near the window

Before i could finish placing them in order , i heard a loud voice
And the voice was so similar that i was afraid
I ran out of the room to the direction of the voice

It was from the west side where the maids have strictly told us not to enter

'' Lucas ! Did you hear that too ? ''

I turned around and it was Astrick
I know he came here for the same reason

'' Yea , it sounded like Hectar ''

'' It's coming from that side '' he pointed to that direction

'' Didn't the maids say that the west side was restricted ? ''

'' Well , our brother is way more important than some rules ''

He pulled my hand and dragged me to the west side

Oh goodness gracious , please don't let anybody find us ....

'' The west side is quite small compared to the other sides ''
I said as we walked inside the said side of the palace , i am still praying for nobody to find us

'' Yea , what could even be hidden in such a small area ? ''

We saw a slightly opened door at the corner of the west side

Both of us went towards the door and opened it
And what we saw inside was.....
