❝𝑰𝑻'𝑺 𝑨 𝑽𝑬𝑹𝒀 𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑫 𝑫𝑬𝑪𝑰𝑺𝑰𝑶𝑵, isn't it Mooney?❞ Sally Jackson asked a five year old Lorelei Jackson, carrying a basket full of sweets and toys. Sally had decided to have a girls day with Lorelei, wanting to spend time with her daughter. She had to entrust Gabe on taking care of a very fussy two year old Percy.
"It's just so hard to choose just one! Like, I could get gumdrops, sour balls, or jawbreakers." Lorelei ranted, Sally finding it funny how that was the world's problem in little Lorelei's eyes.
"How about those starfish gummies? And if you want to match, get that starfish plushy." Sally suggested, seeing the five year old light up, causing her eyes to fill with pure love for the little girl. Her little girl.
"You're right!" The little girl beamed, quickly taking the basket of things and taking out all the toys, much that Sally didn't know she could afford. Once the small blonde took out all the toys, she grabbed a chair beside the counter of sweets, climbing onto it and grabbed the blue starfish plushy the size of herself.
The only other reason Sally wanted to take Lorelei out with just the two of them was because Lorelei had just gotten kicked out of another school. How could a kindergartener get kicked out of two schools was the real question.
Well, the first school was because she never listened to the teachers and kept saying she saw a horse that was flying. The principal saying that it was keeping the other kids from learning, to which Sally thought was absurd.
The second school was because one; she still didn't listen to the teachers and two; she stabbed a girl with a pencil and almost drown her in the drinking fountain. She didn't mean to make the water splash on her and her head to stay stuck there, she wasn't even six feet next to her and was blamed.
As Sally watched her daughter grab a bag full of starfish gummies with the blue starfish plushy in her tiny hand, her heart slightly broke. She knew what was to come of her daughter in a few years. She wanted to savor every moment before she had to give her away to her father's world, just to only pray and hope she wouldn't get hurt or killed.
Lorelei held up the bag of blue gummies up to her mom with a bright smile, Sally snapping out of her thoughts and smiling at her daughter fondly.
"Sweetie, we need to talk." Sally said, crouching down to her daughter's height.
"Is this about me almost drowning Samantha in the drinking fountain? And me stabbing Clara with a pencil? Because I promise I didn't mean to, I swear." Lorelei said, looking at her mother. She was so used to people blaming her for everything at only five years old that she was ready for her own mother to blame her for getting kicked out again.
"No sweetie, it isn't. Look, I'm not mad that you got in trouble. I know it wasn't your fault, even if Mr. Wilson says it was, you are my daughter so I believe you." Sally said, smiling softly at her daughter, god she hate how fast time was going for them. "I know my Mooney and my Mooney would never almost drown Samantha is a water fountain or stab Clara with a pencil on purpose, would she?"
"No." Lorelei said, shaking her head no.
"I would much rather have you get in trouble than stay with little girls and little boys that pick on you for you being yourself. Just know, I will never blame you like other people will blame you. I know you would never do anything on purpose that wouldn't help yourself in any way, okay?" Sally said, her daughter just looking at her with pure innocence. Why the hell did she sleep with a god? Twice.
