I trudged out of bed. I combed my shaggy blonde hair and brushed my teeth. Then I threw on a blue polo shirt and a lose pair of black slacks. Plus my new bright blue sneakers with orange checks on the side.
I grabbed a peice of toast and ran out the door, not wanting to be late on my first day. I hopped in my mothers car and she drove me to school, since I don't have a license, and I have no idea how to get to the school.
She dropped me off at the corner of the school, and I walked to the side entrance of the school right next to a bike rack where a bunch of skater boys were talking.
The school didn't let anyone in until eight, it was 7:54.
I had a lump in my throat, and I shifted my weight awkwardly from leg to leg, trying not to be noticed A's the loner new kid.
Then one of the skater boys approaches me. He was wearing a benie that made him look stupid, and a pair of jeans that wear on the verge of falling off. He kept flicking his long hair out of his face, that made him seem like there was something wrong with him. But by the way those girls in the corner were gawking I assumed they found it attractive.
"Hey, I'm Geo." He said
"I'm John." I told him
"You new?" He asked
"Yep."
"I thought so, most kids who aren't new here are smart enough to not stand here."
Uh-Oh,"How come?"
Geo raised his eyebrow,"Becase they no better not to mess with us."
"Standing here isn't 'messing' with you."
He looked pretty mad, but then anger turne into respect, "You have got guts. To stand up to the most popular junior in the school. In that polo shirt. I respect that."
"Thanks."
"What team you gonna be on?"
"Googly?"
"Your on team GOGLI! That's the team for nerds. You better stick with us or you won't last a week here!"
"I know."
"Can I see your schedule Polo?"
I hand him my schedule while I look at his poorly dressed friends. I listen to what they are saying and I pick up on their names. Boy with mohawk=Rex, Boy with Afro=Apple, and boy with dreadlocks = Gems.
"I got gym with you! Ill show you how to get there and I'll make sure no one beats you up."1 Says Geo.
A security gaurd opens the door and I follow Geo and his clique to the gym. Apparently, they don't have homeroom here.
We walk into the gym. I trial behind the guys A's they sit on the blechers in the corner of the gym. Couple of girls come to talk to them and say a few things to me when my game gets completely thrown off.
Siting on the bleachers on the opposite side of the gym is perhaps the most stunning girl I have ever seen. From the moment I saw her, I beleived in true love. Because this was love at first sight.
She was sitting by herself. Well there was a group of girls sitting to her left but they seemed to have no interest in her. She didn't seem to care because she had a small smile on her face. She had absolutely no make up on. While all the other girls did. Her brown hair was cut in short curly layers, the longest layer being above her should by an inch or two. She was the only girl in the whole gym with short hair. She was also the only girl wearing a pink shirt. And the only girl wearing shorts. But not short shorts, like cargo shorts. Her face looked like it belonged on the cover of SEVENTEEN magazine, with big brown eyes, a strong nose, high cheeck bones, and full lips. I haven't even spoken to the girl yet and she already stole my heart.
