"Dad, how did you meet mom anyway?" My seventeen year old son, David, asked.
"I met her in gym class." I answered my boy.
"Thith ith a better quethion. How did you get mom to marry you?" Asked my youngest daughter, Samantha, who has a terrible lisp.
"I asked 'Will you marry me'" I answered.
"How did you have kids with mom?" Said my Slick thirteen year old son, Richard, in a way that made me think he already knew the awnser.
"The same way the birds and the bees do." As soon As I replied Rich stuck his tongue out at me. So I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Whenth mom coming home. Theth uthually home when we get home or a little after." Asked the eight years aged, Samantha.
"She had a to go visit a family to investitagate how they may be affecting a certain Childs life at school." I responded.
"I forgot theth a thocial worker." Samantha always has a hard time remberig her own mothers job.
"Samantha, you are always so lost and off topic. Dad, I want to know how you and mom fell in love. Beginning when you met and ending at your wedding." Said fourteen year old Lucy finally looking up from her phone for the first time in days.
"She speaks!"Yells Richy
Lucy elbows Richard in the stomach and I pretend not to see.
"Finally someone asks a good question. Are you sure you want to here the whole story?" I ask knowing it is a long one.
"Yes!" All four munchikins shout in unison.
I clear my throat and begin telling them a story of true love," It was a rainy day in Connecticut in late March of 2013......"
