Devlin POV
'I'm glad Kori had insisted on giving me this.'
The suit she had given me was a bit odd for an 11-year-old. It was made of something similar to a black jumper and a belt with two pieces of fabric with leggings and a short sweater, not to mention the black boots and oneway blindfold. It was a bit awkward at first but it was surprisingly easy to move in. When Dick told Kori about me she insisted on meeting me, at least according to Dick. She was nice and I could see the appeal. And it's not every day you get a gift from an alien princess.
I was traveling in Robins's shadow as he and Batman swung through the city, a precaution on the off chance he missed and fell. Damian had refused to wear Dicks old costume, opting for his own with a similar aesthetic with his own personal touches.
It was a bit harder due to the height difference but I somehow managed to keep up. After a while he landed on a roof, Comissioner Gorden was there. He jumped when he saw Batman as I reformed, I rubbed my temple before I felt someone looking at me. I looked behind me as Damian, or Robin, walked up to the ledge next to me. "Another one?" Commissioner Gorden shifted his gaze from Robin to me. "And a new one." He quirked a brow at me, it was quiet for a second before he asked a question. "So what's your name? Another bird?" I quirked a brow under the blindfold. "Astra." He hummed under his breath before he muttered something I couldn't hear. He turned to Batman who of course wasn't surprised by the questions. "I'll explain later. How's Ubu doing?"
I phased next to Batman which caused him to jump as Robin jumped down next to me, leaving me in between the man and the boy as Gorden answered the question given to him. "He's in icu, still under sedation. We searched his place, nothing much there. But we did find one interesting item."
Gorden pulled out what looked like a paper in a plastic bag, though it was snatched from him before he could hand it over. Robin looked at it before I snatched it from him in turn. "Hey!" I held my arm out as he tried to take it back before I shoved him and handed it to Batman.
"Who's number is it?"
"It's a phone se-" Gorden looked at me and Robin before he continued his sentence. "Uh, a phone 'chat' line." I felt myself slightly cringe at the implication. "But that's not the interesting part, it's what's written on the other side." Batman turned that bag around as he stared at whatever was on it. He gave his thanks to Gorden for the information before we were off again. After another few minutes, he came to a stop, I reformed as I crouched on the beam we stopped on, I created a small spike that stuck upwards from the beam so I could hold onto it for extra support. Robin just stared from his place on my left as Batman peered past him and at me.
"Astra?" I took a deep breath as I screwed my eyes shut. "I'm fine. Just need a second to regain my footing." I heard him let out a small hum before it went silent. After a moment I looked up and around us, it the space was large and filled with abandoned game and food stands. "Dad used to bring me here for ball games." I turned to Batman as Robin leaned forward a bit. "Sometimes afterward, we'd go the amusement park."
He went silent as Robin looked at him, he stared at his father for a moment before looking ahead again. "And now history repeats itself."
"I doubt-"
"Let's go." Before me and Batman were able to say anything, Robin jumped down and started running for the entrance. I sighed as Batman jumped down and ran after him before I followed. He grabbed Robin's shoulder and kneeled down. "We made a deal. You're back up and this is no game. Think before you act." He handed Robin a pair of binoculars, Robin glanced at them before using them to look around. I kept glancing at the area around us.
