Chapter 1

Nim was an only child. She lived with her mother in a bake shop near the middle of town. Her and her mother never really had much money and brought in around ¥1000 each week.

Nim had 2 older brothers, Osama and Raiden until they drowned on a boat trip with they're father. Since then it was just her and her mother.

Things have been hard for Nim's mother being a single parent trying to teach her daughter right from wrong, but still manages.

Every Monday-Friday Nim's mother runs into town to sell her baked goods so, she pays the neighbour to teach Nim basic skills like reading, writing and math as she can't afford to put her in school and when she returns she saves anything that wasn't sold and sends Nim to go do housework before dinner.

Today things where a little different...

While Nim's mother was in town she met a wealthy looking man with a daughter about the same age as Nim. The man asked politely " excuse me ma'am I was hoping you'd have two brown buns...just big enough for me and my daughters dinner". Nim's mother smiled and said " oh yes of course, Is that everything"? The man quietly said "yeah that's it". Then started to walk away. He was half way down the road then turned around and went back over to the stand. Nim's mother questioned "yes can I help you"? The man sighed and said in a weepy voice "well you see my wife kicked me out of the house earlier and told me to take our daughter, but we have nowhere to stay...so, I was wondering if you had a place to stay for the night"? Nim's mother kindly said "I'm sure we can arrange that". After that the man and his daughter came home with Nim's mother.
