As he was walking down the narrow path leading to the back of 185 Jamieson street, detective Mason Keyes was hearing the piercing cries of April Parker's mother whom he could see through the small rectangular bathroom window to the right of the house. He stopped for a moment thinking how all of this could've happened. Next to the fence was April's blue scooter. The one that she used everyday to get to university. It served as a bleak reminder of the bright future she had in front of her. Again to the left, He could also hear the voice of her husband's desperate attempt at calming her down. It was rather pointless. He barely was able to stay composed himself. The mother had already fallen to the ground minutes ago. She's been like that since she made the gruesome discovery that led the Alliston police to one of their most bizarre cases to date. Detective Keyes knew what was waiting for him on the other side of this wooden arch separating the front driveway and the backyard. His partner was steps in front of him. He turned around

'' Are you okay Mace?''

''Yeah..I just..I'm alright Roy.. Really.''

''Look, I know that everything with Miriam is still recent and I understand if you need more time to..''

''I'm fine. I..I need this.''

''Okay. let's get to it then.'' softly said Agent Roy Mendoza.

These two have been partners for the last 5 years. They met under funny circumstances. They both arrived late to their first day on the job and got stuck with each other. Who knew these two slackers would make the best case closers this side of the atlantic has ever seen.

The two men arrived on the back patio of the two story house. A lot of love was put into decorating the place. A gazebo with red chairs, a table and a bar for the many family parties they must've hosted. Simple lights were stapled around the edges to illuminate when night chased the sun away. There were also plenty of different flowers and a personal garden where they grew their veggies and fruits. Megan, April's mom, really enjoyed planting and assembling her own flower bouquets. In the middle of the backyard, an inground pool big enough for the entire neighborhood to come and jump in. Finally, a Black shed with a roof that looked like an ice cream cone upside down. Somewhat medieval looking. Like the spike atop a castle. The flooring was newly painted. They had money. There were no questions there.

Speaking of the flooring, it was not entirely spotless. As they made their way to the shed, They noticed little red dots splattered all over the white daisies in the flower pots hanging on lanterns around the pool. Looking down, there was a trail of blood leading to the entrance of the shed. The door had been broken by an axe. It was in the ground next to it. Pieces of sharp wood debris and sawdust were covering its surface. Half of the door was still attached to the hinges screwed on the frame. The two men entered by stepping in the hole made by the mom about an hour ago. Inside were the shredded bloody remains of April Parker. Her medium to long orange hair hid her blue eyes and freckles. She was laying on her back with both legs and arms chained to the wall. Her extended limbs made an X shape. The strong smell of blood repulsed Keyes for a few instant. Almost made him vomit.
