(Apologies in advance for such a small chapter, larger chapters will come in the future!)

The two of them stood in silence for another few minutes before Y/n made up an excuse.

"Well, I came here because I wanted to ask... if I'd be able to work for the Vees?"

Of course, this was a lie, but they had to find a way to get out of the painfully awkward situation.

Vox's eyes lit up momentarily.

"You want to work with us?" He spoke, a small hint of enthusiasm in his voice. It soon diminished when he realised how childlike he sounded, and his face fell to a neutral expression.

"Yes..." Y/n spoke calmly, "You demonstrated a desirable power back at the hotel, and so I wanted to learn more..."

Vox found it hard to hide the fact that he was starting to glitch out again, and so took a few seconds to calm himself before replying in a professional manner.

"I suppose we can allow you to work for us. But we have to make sure you're not working as a spy for any of our rivals, or you have ill intentions."

Y/n sighed slightly at this. This could either be a big success or a huge failure, depending on if he found out about Alastor's plan.

"Come with me," He continued, "We need to discuss this in more detail."

Vox ended up leading Y/n to his communications tower, and sat them down in his office before going over some things about the jobs available at that moment.

Y/n however ended up becoming enthralled with the numerous screens and bright lights. They decided to go with a random job that Vox had listed, and it turns out it was to become Vox's 'assistant'.

"Well, today's the day of your new life as an assistant..." Vox proudly states, before pausing, "...Wait, what's your name again?"

Y/n sighs quietly.

"My name's Y/n L/n."

"Ok, ok, Y/n... from now you'll be my assistant. Which means you'll be helping me with all my important plans and broadcasting stunts; this includes helping to defeat any rivals of the Vees," Vox continues, walking back and forth with his hands behind his back, "I assume you're up for it, because I'm guessing if you weren't, you wouldn't be here at all..."

Y/n nods, watching as Vox continues to speak, taking note of the whole 'rivalry' warnings.

They just hoped they could convince Vox that they had no ties to Alastor, because otherwise they'd be utterly fucked...
