Le parole di Keep Yourself Alive sono nate come una sorta di critica e sottilmente ironiche. Molti fan hanno sempre pensato che fosse una canzone su quanto fosse bella la vita, ma gira più attorno alla domanda 'c'è più di questo, nella vita'? La composizione risale al 1971 ma venne pubblicata nel 1973 come prima traccia dell'album dei Queen. Inoltre, diventò un vero e proprio must della band, utilizzata spesso come apertura dei concerti.

piccola parentesi... io adesso (su un quaderno) sono arrivata all'inizio di queen 2 (il secondo album) quindi cercherò di mettermi in pari anche qui... spero di riuscire a fare tutto dato che la scuola, la danza e la musica mi rubano un po' di tempo...
