A raw, animalistic scream pierces Hinahoho's ears. He immediately rushes to the source, weapon in hand. Running into the room where Rurumu and Ja'far were caring for the girl he pulled from the ocean, he found his wife and Ja'far frantically trying to calm the shrieking girl. He noticed Sinbad standing at the edge of the room, confused and a little anxious.
Walking over to him, Hinahoho placed his hand on his master's shoulder. "What's going on?" He asks, his brows furrowed. Sinbad shakes his head. "I don't really know. One moment ago, she was talking to Ja'far and when she saw me, it's as if she lost all sense." Hinahoho looks at his wife, who then signals he and Sinbad should leave until the girl calms down. Doing as his wife directs, Hinahoho ushers Sinbad out of the room.

On the deck, Vittel and a man with a cloth over the lower half of his face approach Sinbad and Hinahoho. "Mahad and I heard a scream! What's going on?" Vittel asks confused as he looks at Hinahoho and Sinbad. "We don't really know. The girl woke up and apparently, when she saw Sinbad, she just started screaming." Hinahoho explains, recalling how frightened the girl looked.

Vittel turns to Mahad, who shared his look of unease. "Why that look Vittel, Mahad?" Vittel looks at Sinbad, who has since regained his composure. "Ohh no, it's nothing serious. That scream just reminded us of our days as assassins. You see, sometimes when you don't immediately kill your target, they cry out in fear for their lives. And it sounded...exactly like that." Vittel explains, much to Hinahoho's disturbance. Before anyone can say anything else, Rurumu steps onto the deck with a troubled expression on her face.

"We managed to calm her down, so she's okay now. Ja'far is with her as we speak so that she doesn't become too frightened while alone." Rurumu reassures the men. She turned to Sinbad. "Please don't take what happened personally, Sinbad. I guess seeing a young man frightened her quite a bit, since...she used to be a slave." Rurumu's mouth twists in disgust as she finishes the sentence. The thought of that poor girl being a slave angered her. 'A slave huh..' Sinbad thinks, a little unsettled by the memory of the shackles on her limbs and the bruises they left when he removed them.
"How did she become a slave and how did she end up in the ocean?" Hinahoho asks, sensing his wife's vexation. "She fell overboard while trying to escape." The group turned their attention to Ja'far, who was now standing in the doorway.

"As for how she ended up a slave, she says she doesn't remember. All she remembers is that she woke up on a slave ship. Then, one day, some men wanted to take her somewhere so she tried to escape and that's when she fell overboard." Ja'far looks over at Sinbad. 'Fell?' Sinbad thought to himself. "She most likely mistook you for one of her captors and started screaming out of fear since she probably couldn't see your face properly." Sinbad closes his eyes and crosses his arms, prossessing what Ja'far just said. "She talks freely to you, doesn't she Ja'far? If possible, I want you to tell her that I didn't mean to frighten her. I just wanted to see if she was alright." Ja'far shook his head. "I'm afraid we can't do that right now. After calming down, she started crying and when she finished crying, she passed out." Ja'far elucidates.

"For now, let's get back to your lessons. I'll go check on her after you've finished studying for the day." Rurumu concludes the conversation, earning a groan from both Ja'far and Sinbad.

Slowly opening her eyes, Yunalesca is greeted by the dark of night. She sits upright and scans the room for any sign of danger and spots Ja'far and Rurumu sleeping within arms length from her. She smiled faintly. The thought of them being worried for her filled her with happiness. Recalling the events from earlier, she looks over at the boy. He assured her over and over again that she was safe on this ship and that no one was going to hurt her. Quietly, as not to wake Ja'far and Rurumu, she started to stand up. She had been laying down for quite some time and wanted to stretch her legs and feel the air on her face. Wrapping herself in her blanket, she tiptoes to the door, opens it and steps into the refreshingly cool night air.

As she walked on the deck, she closed her eyes, feeling the air on her skin. "How long has it been since I last felt the wind on my face?" Yunalesca thinks, opening her eyes, gazing at the stars in the sky. Now at the edge of the deck, she looked out over the sea. The waters were quiet and calm, reflecting the sky perfectly. Looking at the stars' reflections, Yunalesca placed her elbows on the gunwale, leaning into it and started to hum to the sound of the water, completely forgetting all the worries she had.

Sinbads eyes flicker open at the sound of someone humming. Pushing Hinahoho's arm off of his neck, he sat up and listened to the comforting sound of the voice. It sounded like stars dancing on the stillwaters of a stream on a cool summer evening. It soothed something inside of him. "Who's singing this late at night? The girl, maybe?" Sinbad thinks as he slowly gets up and walks onto the deck of the ship.

There, he saw the girl, barefoot and wrapped in a blanket. Her hair gently swayed in the breeze as she hummed into the starry night. Something about this sight paired with the calming hum of water splashing against the boat filled Sinbad with a strange sense of peace. Wanting to talk to the girl, Sinbad steps forward, reaching out his hand to tapp her shoulder. But before he could even touch her, she turned around, meeting his gaze.
Sinbads eyes widen in amazement.

This girl eyes were incredibly beautiful.

They reminded Sinbad of a lush green forest overflowing with life, with bits of golden earth at the centre. Entranced by her eyes, to Sinbad, seconds felt like hours.

As she turns around, Yunalesca sees a boy, no older than herself, standing behind her. His hair, tied in a low pony with a simple white ribbon, was a dark shade of violett. He was wearing a cropped vest, the colour of a heliotrope flower, over a plain white button-up shirt. A white cloth was draped over his shoulder and tucked beneath a deep purple cloth around his waist. His trousers were a bit baggy and were tucked into his black boots. He walked quietly for someone wearing boots on a ship. But it wasn't his appearance that held her attention. It was his eyes. The girl was enthralled by Sinbads eyes. To her, his bright amber eyes were steadfast, as if he could see into the future. Holding his gaze felt like looking into the eyes of destiny itself. Unwavering and strong.

But this peace soon vanishes when Yunalesca's face suddenly clouds over in fear. 'Why's he here? What's he going to do to me?' She thinks in a panic as she stumbles backwards, tripping over her blanket. She hits the gunwale before falling overboard. Yunalesca closed her eyes, bracing herself against the cold of the water below her. But the cold never engulfed her.
