Home. The place where I was treated like someone with feelings and opinions. My safe haven. Where my mother and father waited for me every morning. I could feel myself visibly relax as I noticed it there in between all the other rundown buildings. It was old just as every other place here, and came with its own unique scent of sawdust and wet moss, I could find my way back with just my nose.

I reached the door in a matter of seconds and there they were the only two people I would die for.
"Good morning my baby. You look beautiful today." My mother was first to flock to me and dowse me in affection she was the most kind and beautiful beta woman I'd ever know with her light brown hair and eyes, she was around 5'3 with freckles adorning her light skin. "How are you? Dear?" I kiss her cheeks like every morning and she giggled.

"I'm fine ma. Just hungry."

"Good I made some sandwiches for lunch." She walked into the kitchen and I followed heading for the cabinet for a cup before sitting down with her.

Seconds later my father entered the kitchen he was one of the stronger betas of the city but still that never mattered to anyone who wasn't lower than ranking of alpha. His stature was at 5'4 on the shorter side but still buff, with his dark brown hair and eyes. He sported a messy beard that complemented his round face.
"Tristan." His voice corse and dry while ruffling my hair and sat on the opposite side of my mother.

"Father." I repeated in the same dry tone he had. His cocked brow and I smiled widely at him in which he returned.

"How about you and me head out tonight and get some practice in?" He winked at me and I placed my arm on the table leaning on it toward him. My mother could only scoff and roll her eyes. She hated when we left.

"I'll beat you this time. Old man." He laughed tauntingly at me.

"You're on. Kid." Oh. He was gonna regret that.

On the cover of dark I made my way to the edge of the city dodging people and the patrolling units. Covered in dark loose clothing for better movement. I was swift and flexible so evasion was easy. Only moments later did I reach the city limits. Sitting myself on a lone barrel as I waited.

"You've definitely have gotten faster that's for sure." I lift my head as see him comedown the alley. A smug smile planted itself onto my lips.

"I've always been fast. Old man. I've just been taking it easy on you." I struck a nerve. I could tell when his breathing changed and hopped off the barrel standing before him.

"You keep acting cocky and you'll lose more than just your teeth. Kid" I huffed out and stared him down. When he stalked toward me slowly removing his clothes as we maintained eye contact, I moved away following his movement. What's he trying to pull? Faster than I can react he jumps towards me shifting in air causing me to lose my balance and fall against the barrel he psyched me out quickly changed trajectory speeding off deep into the woods. I could almost hear him laugh. Almost. Growling out I throw off my clothes and chase after him it's not long before I reach him colliding into him and leaving him to regain his balance. His wolf was bigger than mine. Much bigger but then again so was most others. His a single colored dark brown wolf with thick neck fur that I've always loved and mine was a mixed brown colored wolf with very sleek thin features.

Reaching a certain clearing in the woods far enough from the city we make our stop shifting back and heading toward a specific tree toward the left of us. The tree was used to hold our extra pairs of clothing in one of its holes. We quickly changed and positioned ourselves accordingly, about 5 feet away from each other we took our stances. He was the first to move, charging straight toward me, he wanted to tackle me. Was he going easy on me or something? Whatever. Taking no chances dropping to the ground before he got to close his arms around me and launched him forward with both my legs. I quickly threw myself up with my arms and watched him as he regained his stance.

"What was that old man? Are you trying to go easy on me?" He only laughed at my words. Irked I didn't like this. He was planning something I know it... I glared at him. If he thinks he'll get me to loose my cool he's going to be sorely mistaken.

All around was quiet. Breaking the silence we jumped at each other simultaneously both of us attacking the other with no relenting, my father was stronger and bigger that much was evident but I was quick and flexible able to dodge his attacks without a sweat. Every punch or kick he threw I saw coming a mile away dodging them with ease while throwing my own. I was landing some but they didn't mean anything if I couldn't cause damage. As his were slower but hurt like a bitch, mine were fast but left little damage. So I needed my moves to cause enough damage, I needed to be able to get enough hits in a small amount of time before he got to hit me first. There it was my fathers mistake, he threw a his arms out once more and for a second it was my chance! He was open. Quickly I threw his arms back and grabbed the side of his face with my left and with my right I jumped for an effective elbow to the face holding onto him as he fell back against the floor I made sure to knee his arms to the ground and keep myself on his chest or he would throw me off. He was laying there groaning as I held my fist raised huffing in case he wanted to try anything else.

"I give." He groaned out. And I began to stand dusting myself off. "God did you have to hit my nose?" He moaned as he held his now bleeding nose.

"Sorry. You always said go for the nose. If they can't smell they can't find you." He smiled at that and I made my way over to him.

"Did yah break it?" He tilted his head up. And I grabbed his face examining my work.

"Will you hate me if I say yes?" I smile at him only joking.

"Pah! You beat me. So this is something to celebrate! You aren't my little boy anymore." His attitude about me giving him a broken nose was making my heart melt. So I broke it back into place. "Ahh!  Shit!" He doubled over in pain balancing himself steady clearing his nostrils from the blood.

"Oops. Sorry." I smiled back at him cheekily and he rolled his eyes. "Let's get outta here before ma worries."
