"Ha! To you my son who has surpassed me in our secret practices!" Yup. My father was drunk. He was shouting and slurring his words, drunk. I huffed and rolled my eyes at his antics. He needed to quiet down or we'd end up in a cellar.

I sighed. "Pa. Let's get you to bed you've had enough for one night." It was later than expected when we got back and he insisted we drink to celebrate. I told him only one but he kept. On. Drinking. At any moment mom could wake up and toss both of us out. Grabbing the beer from his hands I placed it on the counter and he whined.

"But-" I cut him off.

"No buts. Now come on. Let's get you into bed." He mumbled some words and I guided him to his room and he plopped into bed still mumbling. Rolling my eyes I pulled off his shoes and threw the blanket over him and he rolled over draping his arm over mom.
Taking in how cute they were I leaned down to kiss each of them on the cheek.
"Goodnight." I closed the door to their room and made it to my room I too was only slightly buzzed from the little drinking I was doing.

I woke up the next morning tired as hell from the fighting as that was the longest I've lasted against my dad. Rolling out of bed I groaned stretching and popping my bones feeling the satisfaction of the pops in all my bones. Today I was to return back to 'work' so I looked through my closest that was filled with revealing, indecent clothes. As it was law that as an omega I was to show my rank through my clothes it irritated me. I mean for once I'd like a day were I can wear what I like other than what they expect of me. Grabbing the first pair of clothes I felt most like wearing I draped them on. It was light green saggy thin silky pants that had a matching bra with lace gold linings and placed on matching gold earrings.
I made my way down the steps to see my mother cooking breakfast.

"Hey mama." I placed a kiss against her cheek and she smiled.

"Hi baby." Siting myself on my chair she spoke first. "I'm thinking of going back to working as a doctor." I froze.

"Ma! You can't!" I stood up rushing to her. She only looked away. "you know what they'll do to you if they catch you!"

"I know. I know... but-" she was frustrated I could tell. "You know yesterday I saw Sarah with her little two boys you remember her?" I nod. "one of her little ones has come down with chicken pox and they don't have enough money to pay those bastard doctors." It's true most none of the people couldn't afford the help of the doctors that were meant to help only those higher. So if one got sick they would inevitably die soon after. My mother though was the daughter of an underground doctor and she learned everything from her father and I from her. She quit that life after she had me scared I'd be put in danger because of it. Now she was a cook for a restaurant that serves only alphas. It was a miracle she got a job there.

Thrown out of my thoughts once again, "I just can't sit down and watch them die when I can do something about it." That was it. She made up her mind. It wasn't about money for her. Of course. That's just her.

I forced it out. "Fine." She beamed at me. "-but! I'm coming with you. Every time you leave to help someone I have to be there with you. " I glanced down at her daring her to deny me. She hesitated but conceded and I smiled, "Good" moving to sit back down.

After a quiet breakfast I made my way to the brothel and took of my heels I much rather like moving around in bare feet and it was allowed luckily, I hated wearing heels but they proved effective weapons. I could see Harry scurrying around out of breath as he moved gathering all the omegas and some betas.
"Girls! Boys! Come! come!" He seemed stressed. Bad news for us. That usually meant someone 'important' was making there way here. I inwardly groaned making my way to him.
"Ok now listen! We're going to have a guest! He's from outta town and a guest to The Alpha himself so you better not act a fool or I will make you regret it." The alpha? As in alpha Kieran? Damn it that didn't sound good to me. I have a bad feeling about this...
