Zyair grabbed his ringing phone from out of his pocket with his eyes still shut. He felt someone on his chest and without opening his eyes he guessed who it was.
"Hm?" Zyair hummed into the phone.
"Hey baby, where are you? I thought you were coming back tonight." Nahde lowly spoke in the phone.
Sighing, Zyair pulled the phone away from his ear and scrunched his face up at the brightness, trying his best to look at the time.
11:42pm.
"Oh, I lost track of time, imma be round that way tomorrow, My bad."
"Okay. I'll call you later."
"Igh." Zyair pulled the phone away from his ear and hung up, feeling Imani slightly shift on him.
He could barely breathe but he didn't want to wake her up by pushing her off of him.
He lowered the brightness on his phone and went to check E3s location.
He noticed his location was still downstairs so most likely him and Kyia were still up waiting for him and Imani to leave the room.
Zyair looked down at imani and lightly tapped her back. He whispered her name a couple of times and rubbed her back while doing it before she finally opened her eyes.
"Wake up, cmon we gotta go."
Imani scrunched her face up a little before shifting on her side to lay back down. "Mani, get up baby." Zyair stopped rubbing her back seeing as it put her back to sleep instead of waking her up.
He got up and walked towards the door. He made his way downstairs before peeping around the corner seeing E3 and Kyia cuddled up on the couch.
Zyair didn't want to take up anybody's space. It was Kyias house and yet him and Imani were taking up her room.
He wanted to take her to his house but he knew Imani and his sister wasn't in the best space w each-other.
He walked back upstairs, this time determined to wake Imani up.
"Mani, wake up. let's go" he said removing the covers off her and rocking her body back and fourth.
He picked Imani up by her waist, waking her up in the process. "C'mon lemme drop you off home"
"What time is it?" she groaned while squinting her eyes.
"Almost midnight" He put her down on her feet and stood by the door as he waited for her to get herself together. His eyes were heavy as hell, body feelin like it had weights tied to it. However, he refused to say anything. Nobody needed to see all that. He knew exactly what to take when he got home to make himself feel better.
"You okay?" Imani questioned walking up to him. Honestly, he hasn't lived up to the nickname smiley since she'd first met him. At first she thought maybe it was the reality of him coming home from jail, but now she was wondering if it was much more.
After all, she didn't know much about him.
Zyair nodded and placed a light kiss on her forehead. "Just tired."
Imani didn't question it even though it didn't sit right with her. She stared at him for a bit longer before looking away.
Zyair didn't know what to do with that.
_______
The ride home was mostly quiet. Imani had her head leaned against the window, half asleep again.
