Chapter 11

Lorraliell snapped her fingers and immediately Jillian was transported back into the cave. Jillian looked around but Lorraliell was nowhere in sight.

            “Where are you”, cried Jillian?

“I’m in your mind Jillian, remember”, Lorraliell answered? “Don’t worry I will guide you. Pick up that wand there Jillian. You may need it”.

Jillian walked over to that table and put the wand in her pocket.

“Could you tell me where the exit is”, asked Jillian?

“Down that passage there is the magic transport that brought you here”, answered Lorraliell. “Take that again”.

Jillian obeyed and walked down the little stone passage. At the end Jillian saw a blinding, bright light just like the one that she had found in the palace. Jillian shielded her eyes from the light and slowly stepped into it. Once again Jillian was twirled and twisted through a dizzying whirl of colors but this time she was more prepared and it did not frighten her so much. A few seconds later Jillian emerged from the transport in the little room in the castle where she had been before. Jillian quickly opened the little door and stepped out onto the top of the stairs.

“Where do I go now”, asked Jillian?

“Your first task should be to free Velxin, Lezt, and Menko”, answered Lorraliell. “They are trapped in the east tower. You must hurry”.

Jillian ran down the staircase and opened the door slowly. She peered out to see if there was anyone around but the coast was clear. Jillian tiptoed out of the little room and ran down the long hall towards the east wing of the castle.

“There is a door at the end of this hallway”, said Lorraliell. “It leads to the east tower”.

Jillian came to the end of the hallways and opened the door. It opened into a small room with a hug staircase that went up so far that Jillian could not see the top.

“Go up the stairs Jillian”, said Lorraliell.

Jillian obeyed and began to run up the long staircase. It was so high that she was out of breath before she made it half way up the stairs. Jillian stopped to catch her breath but only for a moment and then she began to ascend the stairs again. Jillian could see the top now so she went faster. Finally she reached the top where she stopped in front of a huge metal door. The door had a very complex looking lock on it and it confused Jillian just to look at it.

“We have no time to pick the lock Jillian”, said Lorraliell. “Use the magic wand”.

Jillian pulled the wand from her pocket and pointed it at the lock.

“Repeat after me Jillian”, said Lorraliell. “Mghhgb Egbasuo Jghjkhgwru”.

            “Mghhgb Egbasuo Jghjkhgwru”, said Jillian.

The wand shot a sharp blue light at the door and the lock scrambled itself so fast that Jillian could hardly tell what was happening. The lock fell to the floor and the big door creaked open. Jillian stepped into the room slowly. Everything was dark.

            “Menko”, called Jillian, “Lezt, Velxin”?

            There was no answer.
