CHAPTER 22: Giovanni smiled slowly as he saw the challenge and determination spark in Natalie's eyes. He could tell that she was going to put up a fight just by the stubborn tilt to her chin and the way she squared her slender shoulders. He had felt bad that he hadn't been with her lately and that he had constantly been working. He wasn't proud of himself for some of the things he had to do. He was determined though, to find the son of a bitch who was trying to take what was his-and Natalie was without a doubt his, and only his.
Leaning back in the chair, he let Natalie see the need and possessiveness he felt for her show in his gaze and he knew that she had seen in by how her eyes widened momentarily and her breath hitched. He enjoyed the fact that he could have such an effect on her, because he was just as affected by her.
She knew in that moment what he was doing and she narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms over his chest just to show him her irritation, but she couldn't deny the thrill of excitement that spiraled through her.
She didn't want him to see that small amount of excitement, because she knew that once he did he would grip it tightly, pull at it until she was a writhing moaning mess on the floor. She narrowed her eyes further, just as Santino came back into the room, smiling brightly and carrying two platters filled with small plates with equally small sample slices of cake.
He set them down in front of them and pulled one from the platter to set it in front of them with two forks.
Both Giovanni and Natalie picked up one and inspected the cake.
It looked like regular cake, but Natalie was sure that it would be the most amazing cake she would ever taste in her life. Santino gestured to the plate with a proud smile.
"I decided to start off with something, eh... traditional. This is regular chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting." He said and Natalie picked up her fork to dive in and shovel it into her mouth when Giovanni stopped her.
Instead, she watched as he picked up the small fork between long and nimble fingers and slipped his fork into the soft moist cake. It cut through like a hot knife slides through butter. He lifted the fork that now had a bit of the cake on it to Natalie's lips and looked at her expectantly. She realized what he wanted her to do and resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She dutifully slipped the fork into her mouth and tried not to moan when the rich luscious cake hit her tongue. She could've sworn her eyes rolled back in her head.
"That is amazing!" she said once she was able to speak again.
Santino brightened and Giovanni smirked as he opened his mouth. Natalie sighed and got some cake on the fork and then lifted it to his lips. She thought he would just take a bite, and he did take a bite...
He wrapped his plump lips around the edge of the fork and pulled the cake into his mouth, slowly, purposely getting chocolate frosting on his lower lip. Natalie watched as his tongue flicked out to lick it up. Heat flashed through her and her breaths came faster. This is what he meant, she realized through the thick haze of lust that weighed like a thick warm fog over her skin. She smirked mentally. Two could play it this game. Once Giovanni wiped his mouth with his napkin and sent a secret grin Natalie's way, he turned to Santino with a curt nod.
"Next." He said simply.
Santino hurried to set another plate in front of them.
"This is banana cake with cheesecake and fresh caramel filling." Santino said and Natalie's eyes went wide. She didn't know they made cakes like that. It looked normal enough.
