chapter eight 😻‼️

"Uncle Vernon?" I asked, holding my drawing close to my chest. "I drew you this!"

My uncle sneered at me, a disgusted look in his face. "Why would I want anything you've made me, you wretched girl?"

I frowned, taking a step back. "I-...My teacher told me to draw my dad. For father's day-"

Uncle Vernon's face turned red. "Your father was a meth-head! He's the reason your mother died!"

I flinched, eyes watering. "I-I drew you, Uncle Vernon."

"How dare you? I'm ashamed to even be related you, girl. Go back to your cupboard!"

I turned, leaving my drawing behind with him, tears already flowing as I ran to my cupboard.

Lilith:

I sat up, eyes wide. What time was it? 4:57.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. Getting out of bed, I decided to just go ahead and get ready for school. I could hear my snoring roommates even through the bathroom door, so I decided to get dressed quickly and do my makeup in the shared bathroom. No one would be awake by now, anyways.

Uncle Vernon had always hated me. Moreso than Harry. I didn't understand it, and it made me angry. When he yelled at me, I yelled back. Maybe that's why Harry got a bedroom and I got a cupboard.

I walked down the stairs, eyes watering. Damnit. Why was I even thinking about this stuff? It was so stupid. Why did I even care?

I rubbed my eyes, entering the common room.

"Lilith?"

The voice frightened me. I jumped, turning with my wand up. But it was just Draco.

He tilted his head. "Why are you awake?"

I narrowed my eyes, putting my wand away. "Why are you awake?"

He scoffed. "That doesn't matter. What was your Instagram post about?"

"Oh. It was just something dumb Harry did and.."

Draco's face soured. "That git."

I snickered, stepping closer to him. "He wrote to me about you, in first year. The horrid Malfoy boy."

He scoffed again. "Yes, well, he was always hanging around Weasley."

"Ron seemed harmless." I waved my hand. "But I don't really know him, so.."

"Yes. Well, he's a little disappointment. All his brothers are wonderfully skilled and he's just Potters sidekick."

"Sidekick?" I asked, amused.

"Yes." Draco sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Ever since first year, Weasley has been Potters little boyfriend, and it honestly-"

"What about Hermione?" I asked, not caring about Harry and Ron's romance.

"Granger? That mudbloo-"

"Don't say that word." I narrowed my eyes. "Don't."

Draco's eyes widened. "Sorry."

"You ought to apologize to her."

"..."

"Yeah. Anywho...Why are you awake?"

"I already said that didn't matter."

I rolled my eyes. "Your boring. Is curfew even over?"

"We can leave our common rooms by 6:30."

"Leave without getting in trouble, you mean?" I tilted my head, smirking.

He smirked right back. "What are you thinking, Potter?"

"Well, I just really don't know my way around Hogwarts yet," I said innocently. "Couldn't you show me around a little?"

He laughed. "I don't see why not."
