Soon pulling up to the airport, I grab the bags from the back of the small red truck tucking my ticket in the back of my pockets. wiping my sweaty hands on my shorts, i follow my mom to the baggage check in. The whole time both of us stay silent as the tall black haired woman puts stickers on all my bags and throwing them into a small cart.
I look toward my mom, only to see that tears are forming in her big blue eyes. Not being able to control myself i start crying as well and embrace her in a huge hug not wanting to let go of yet another person. This was suspossed to be fun, going off to the collage I always dreamed of going too, making new friends, amazing frat house parties where i get drunk and wake up in the back yard wondering how i even got there. But its only making people even more sad that im actually leaving and its killing me slowly inside.
i cant bear the sight of my fragile mother crying.
the last time i saw her cry this hard was when she found out my father died. A single mother raising a 10 year old kid at the time. kinda stressful and heartbraking if you ask me.
We stand there for what seems like forever and i soon pull away rubbing her shoulders smiling.
"mom relax im only a few hours away...ill call and visit all the time dont worry about me" i laugh slightly trying to cheer her up a little but to my surprise it only makes her more upset.
i bite my lip slightly, its something i do when i get nervous and not know what to do anymore.
"Flight to Washington 267 departing in 20 minutes"
And woman speaks over the loud speaker and i give my mom one last hug goodbye
"Victoria please call me when you land"
i nod okay smiling and walk through the doors into the airport. feeling the cold air hit my face from the blasting A.C. I walk myself to the scanning, placing my carry along bag on the machine as well as my jewlery and the rest of my things that might go off. Stepping through all clear, I quickly grab my bags and things running up the stairs to gate 7.
"Last call for boarding flight 267, last call for boarding flight 267 to Washington."
i sigh and start running quickly, I scan the area for my gate and soon find it in a matter of a few seconds. i walk quickly becoming out of breath. grabbing the now wrinkled ticket from out of my pocket and handing it to the small lady from the desk. I give her a faint smile trying to take my seat as fast as possible.
I jog through the tunnel, nearly tripping over my feet. As i reach the entrance of the plane i slow my feet down. Taking a deep breath and running my hands over my face with a quick sigh. I smile as i enter the large plane, examining the people, i look at people in every isle. Some old, some young but one woman catches my eye.
She has short hair, shaved on one side and the rest of her hair flipped to the other. Her face skinny and slim, with a small tattoo on her neck that i cant quiet make out. But dam shes beauitful.
A small slim lady touches my shoulder gently
"ma'am please take your seat" she gives me a warm smile and i nod softly walking down the isle.
i take a seat on the other side of the woman. The thin isle seperating us. As i look at her i notice she has more tattoos on her arms and hands. large peaces for a woman but im not one to judge. She flips the page of a large book thats resting on her lap.
i soon look away and notice a small skinny girl sitting next to me. very light red curly hair, freakles running across her rose and some slightly on her cheek but they hard to make out. She sits there talking into her headphones, a white iPhone in her lap. I guess she in a call.
5 minutes pass and the plane still hasnt tooken off. i let out a heavy sigh and pull a small blanket from my travel bag wrapping it around me and resting my head on the back of the chair closing my eyes.
As i start dazing off into my sleep, the red headed girl keeps on talking and talking not shutting up. And god is this girl annoying. I sit up looking over at her with a grin and she only smiles at me softly waving like an idiot.
i sit back roughly hitting my thigh hard letting a groan out.
"If it makes you feel any better we wont have service once we get up there so she wont be able to talk to her boyfriend anymore..."
I hear the woman with the tattoos say next to me. Not looking up from her book i smile a little.
"her voice is just so irratating" i reply and laugh softly causing her to giggle slightly still not looking up from her book.
Must be interesting.
"Attection all passengers please may i have your attection..."
the lady explains the seat belts and directions of where to put your bags and so on. I just wanna get out of here already.
the lights in the plane dim slightly and i look out the red headed girls window watching as we start moving faster and faster down the runway. Collage here i come.
i think to myself and rest my head back on the chair, thankfully the girl finally hung up and i can enjoy this flight and get through this as fast as possible. I pull the blanket up to my nose inhaling deeply. Already missing home. No turning back now.
