Chapter 1 New to travel

Ernes Mortenal was a young and ambitious journalist who was always looking for a breakthrough and high-profile story. He worked for the popular online magazine Cieswyr and had a reputation as a brilliant truth seeker. Ernes had a keen mind and a keen eye for detail, making him a natural at uncovering hidden secrets and truths.

Ernes is a tall, slender and fit man with smooth and expressive features and piercing emerald green eyes. He has a short, stylish hairstyle, silver hair that shimmers golden in the light of the sun. He has a strong jawline and high cheekbones, giving him a chiseled, angular appearance. His skin is pale and flawless, almost translucent in the light. He moves with calm grace, every step calculated and precise. Despite his slender figure, he exudes strength and power, his muscles showing through under his clothes. His clothing style is usually simple, stylish and practical; he prefers dark colors and comfortable, durable materials.

One day, Ernes received an anonymous call: a man posing as Kass, Kass was in charge of the company's cybersecurity. After the death of his brother from another unsuccessful experiment of the corporation on changing the genetic code, he quit and began underground intelligence activities against Navodsaki. He provided information about a secret research center on the outskirts of Mayrak. He claimed that the center was conducting illegal experiments on people using a mysterious substance called "GSOI-207". Ernes realized that this could be the story of his life, but he needed to investigate further.

For several days he collected information and talked to his sources, but could not find anything concrete. Then, one night after closing at 11:30 pm, he decided to take a chance and explore the place on his own. Armed with a microphone, nano and micro cameras, he entered the building through a window near the back door and began his investigation. Walking through the laboratory building, Ernes saw several capsules with people connected to machines and life support tubes. He heard the sound of their labored breathing and the beeping of the machines monitoring their vital signs. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he began to film and write everything down, feeling a knot form in his stomach.

Suddenly Ernes heard footsteps approaching. He quickly hid behind a stack of crates and watched as a group of scientists, accompanied by armed guards, entered the room. The guards were dressed in black tactical gear with an exoskeleton and held electromagnetic plasma guns in their hands. Ernes knew he had to stay in the shadows or he would be captured. The men began inspecting the machines and pipes, and one of them muttered something about the Navozaki Corporation. Ernes' ears perked up at the mention of the name. He had heard rumors that the Navozaki Corporation was involved in some shady business, but he could never confirm it.

Ernes waited until the men left the room and continued his investigation. He explored other rooms and saw even more disturbing things, a mortuary operating room in an unsanitary condition, punishment cells with experimental subjects. He couldn't believe what he saw and found out, he had to get evidence to find out the truth, he filmed and wrote everything down.

As he headed towards the exit, Ernes heard footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw two more armed men approaching him. They pointed their guns at him and ordered him to freeze. "STOP," the guards shouted.

Ernes panicked and tried to run away, but one of the men fired a warning shot, which flew a centimeter from his head and went through the wall. Ernes barely dodged, hid behind the nearest table and frantically tried to find a way out. Suddenly he saw a flask with some liquid on the table. Trying to take it, he saw the guards, shouting "DO NOT PLACE", shoot at Ernes. Trying to hide, he overturned the table along with the flask, picked it up with his teeth and, dodging shots, accidentally drank the contents of the flask. Immediately Ernes felt a surge of strength and some changes in his body, he felt the substance flowing through his veins. He felt cheerful and energetic like never before. He also felt a strange connection with people connected to machines and tubes. He didn't understand why he heard them, their pleas for help and feeling their pain, he knew for sure that he had to get out of this institution before it was too late.

Ernes used his newfound strength, agility, and super durable body. He took advantage of the moment to fight off the armed men and escape.

He knew that his life would never be the same, but he also knew that he had to do everything in his power to uncover the truth about the Navozaki Corporation and its illegal activities. As Ernes ran into the night, he thought, "How will I tell Gabrielle what happened?" and about what other skeletons this corporation stores, what to do next and what to do with the information received.

Returning home, he went to bed, ignoring his wife's request for dinner. "I know I have to contact Leafa and tell her what happened." thought Ernes, falling asleep, but he was not prepared for what awaited him and what dangers he would have to face.
