In my hurry to reach Rudra, I wasn't paying attention and ended up colliding with someone in the hallway. She wore a simple yet elegant lavender kurta paired with a white coat, clearly, an intern at the hospital, judging by her young appearance.
Oddly, my senses were overwhelmed by a familiar fragrance, the same one I had caught before. But I didn't linger on it. I was too focused on reaching Rudra's room, where he had been admitted after the accident. My heart was pounding with worry, not just worry, actually. I was beyond tense, feeling as if the ground might disappear beneath me at any moment.
When I entered his room, I noticed a young intern there, but she wasn't the same girl I'd bumped into earlier. As I stepped closer, she excused herself and quietly left the room. I immediately turned to Rudra, letting my worry spill out.
"How are you feeling? Are you in any pain? You have no idea how shocked I was when I heard you'd been in an accident."
He chuckled slightly, trying to reassure me. "No, bro, just chill. I'm fine. Give it a few days, and I'll be as good as new."
I nodded, but my concern only deepened. "Rudra, I think you should take some time off and rest properly. You need to fully recover before you get back to work."
He frowned, raising an eyebrow. "No way. I'm alright, and besides, we need to seal that deal. It's important."
"Yes, it's important, but not more than your health. And I'm serious-you won't be coming to the office until you're better."
He shook his head stubbornly. "No, I won't take a break."
I fixed him with a stern gaze. "If you don't take a break, I'll make sure you're restricted from coming in. That's an order, got it?"
He scoffed, realizing he wasn't going to win this argument. "Vidyut, how can you be such a worrywart? You know how essential this deal is. Without me, how will you manage?"
"Yes, I'm acting like a worrywart because you're more important to me. But don't worry, you can't come to the office, but I can come over to the house, right?"
He sighed, giving in with a reluctant smile, knowing there was no point arguing with me. After our conversation, I left the room to let his parents see him.

Time Skip...
As I made my way to the exit, intending to head back to the office to sign some papers, I noticed people around me whispering and staring. I didn't like it-people who stare without a second thought make me uncomfortable.
"Some people are so nosy," I muttered under my breath.
The murmurs grew louder as I walked toward the exit. Suddenly, people started shouting my name.
