Chapter 3

1 week into going to camp I've been happier than I've ever been. I've never felt so free and I finally felt like my true self. Every full moon we go out and howl(the canines) and others can join in if they want. Hunter and I have grown even closer as well. Tonight is a full moon and s'mores and movie night. One hour before we were to head down to the clearing I was walking around outside and thinking. I wanted to confess my feelings to Hunter. I just wanted to do it at the right time. The speaker comes on calling all campers to the clearing. I walk up to Hunter and hold her hand on the way down there. Half way into the movie I tell Hunter I'm going to get a drink. She comes with me. When I get some water I turned around and looked her in the eyes,"I.... I really like you Hunter, like I want to be your girlfriend," I say timidly. She looks me in the eyes and kisses me. ON THE LIPS!!!! Then she smiles and says," I'd love for you to be my girlfriend." Then we finish the movie and then head back to our cabins. I lay down thinking of how great my life is.

That was before the call came. The call you may ask? It was a call telling me that my aunt had gotten sick. She was fine but she wanted me to come home. I decided to ignore this because my aunt and uncle moved in temporarily to take care of her. And I was relieved because I love it here. I never want to leave. But I know eventually I will have to go home and go back to boring old school. But I'll have Hunter. And I feel like I'm finally happy for once in my life.

I woke up early the next morning to nobody being in the cabin. I get dresses and grab my tail and head out. I hen I walk to the lunch hall the lights are all of. But when I walk in the lights turn on and everyone yells ,"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" Omg I totally forgot! Everyone rushed to give me hugs. Then we ate my favorite food waffles and bacon with eggs and chocolate milk. There was a small amount of presents on a table. Hunter brought me them. When I opened them it was a wolf plushy,beef jerky,a dream catcher, a new wolf poster and.... A NEW TAIL!!!!! The tail was from Hunter! I put it on instantly and hugged her. I thank everyone then we all go outside and run around while a movie plays. It was wolf walkers. My favorite movie.

It's been 4 weeks I've been at camp. And I hate that I only have one more week until I have to leave. I don't know how to feel. At least I have Hunter. She's my world.
