Chapter 2: Remnants

Minnie can feel herself waking up to the smell of burning... burning? she gains consciousness and adjusts her eyes to her surroundings she's in the ambulance still except its on fire. trying to remain calm se carefully drags herself out

"where is everyone?" Minnie questions using a nearby tree to stand up she looks around it seems she's in a forest.

"Sebastian!" Minnie calls out "Kidman!" she heads one direction hoping to find someone as she walks slowly she finds what seems to be a cavelike tunnel and walks through it. Minnie walks slowly throughout the cave until she sees a thin wire from one side of the wall to the other, not trusting this wire she ducks under and crawls. Once she makes it out the tunnel she sees what seems to be a type of village in the distance, maybe that's where everyone is. As Minnie begins to make her way to this village in the corner of her eye she sees a white spot looking over is Leslie holding his hands close to his chest as he slowly walks to the tunnel she just left 

"Hey don't!" she calls out hoping he'd hear her, she doesn't know anything about Leslie or his condition so she head to this village maybe she can find a doctor, or better yet the doctor who was with Leslie when they crashed if she and Leslie survived maybe everyone sles did too but as she walks towards this village she encounters someone but it seems this person isn't normal. 

"um excuse me, have you seen any police officers come through" she says keeping some distance from the stranger.

this mysterious person turns around and his eyes are white and he has white pus like bumps on his face, he makes a type of groaning noise as he faces Minnie. Taking her by surprise she steps back as he lunges for her.

"Hey stay back i don't want to shoot you" she hesitantly pulls her gun out as the man still goes for her, seeing as this man is just getting more violent she shoots him in the shoulder but he doesn't back off; shooting him again in the leg he just gets back up, as it seems she has no choice she shoots two bullets into his head and he finally drops but as Minnie approaches his body it disintegrates into small red bubbles and that trails away until there is nothing there.

"what..." Minnie's eyes follow the disappearing trail to a figure of a man in a ruined cloak he says nothing as he disappears in an instant, confused with the current circumstances but before Minnie can even process what even happen more of those things come out of their hiding spots

"shit" Minnie curses as she sees them all coming from different directions, pulling out her gun again feeling like this is going to end terribly she reloads. Three of those things that look practically identical to the one she just dealt with she dodges the best she can to shoot the first two but as she puts a bullet in the second, the third grabs her hair causing her to gasps as she tries to get him to let go eventually she kicks him multiple times to knock him away and shoots him, more and more come rushing up to her as she fights them off; just like the first guy they all disintegrate into red particles and disappear, that moment on Minnie rushes to the village in hopes to find a familiar face.

Finally reaching the village after she had been avoiding countless of those things Minnie enters the closest building trying to avoid some pallet with spikes not knowing what would happen if she accidentally tripped it. sneaking into the building trying to stay as silent as possible in case there is anyone in there she goes up stairs and looks around; Minnie sighs with relief when she finds some ammo but she found a jar of this green stuff with a confused look she just puts it back down, as she does she hears a noise it seems to be footsteps heading this way 'where to hide' Minnie thinks as her eyes dart to the wardrobe in the corner sprinting quickly she hides inside. Peeking through the gaps a tall familiar man walks into the room...
