Finding a New Normal

The Shocking continues

TW: Calvin Harris, being shocked while awake, hospitals, rude reporters 

A/N: this is the last time Belle will be cardioverted. Also the timeline is way off as is my medical knowledge.

"Alright remember how crazy it is on the red carpet so I need you to stay close to me sweetheart."

"Okay mom, I will," said Belle as the car was pulling up to the venue 

As soon as the mother daughter duo exited the car photographer's were immediately shouting for both of them to look in every which direction to get their picture taken. But Taylor didn't let go of Belle once keeping a protective arm around her young daughter. 

"Taylor! Taylor! Can we ask you a few questions? Taylor what's it like having a sick daughter" one photographer yelled? "Does it make your job harder?" These questions made Taylor visibly angry but she was trying to keep her cool and not make a scene.

"Belle do you feel like a burden to your mother since she's had to post pone her tour?" 

"How dare you speak to my daughter that way?" Taylor snapped at the reporter. 

"Miss Swift, I'm so sorry. I didn't think-"

"No, you're right you didn't think,"

"Taylor, belle come on let's go inside," said Tree catching up to her client. 

"Why do I have a feeling I'm gonna have a long day tomorrow," said the red head. Normally Taylor's publicist would ride to and walk the carpet with them but unfortunately she got stuck in traffic on the way to Taylor's house and had to meet them there. 

"I'll tell you what happened later," said Taylor. "Are you okay, sweetheart?" She asked turning her attention back to Belle.

"I guess" shrugged the young girl. "What that reporter said is not true you aren't ever a burden," said Taylor." 

"Belle?" Taylor lifted her daughters' chin so they would be eye level.  "Do you want to leave?" 

"No," the younger girl shook her head. "I'm fine. Let's just go in." 

Taylor looked at her daughter worried for a few more seconds before kissing the top of her head and obliging.

"And the winner is, Taylor Swift," Belle stood up to give her mom a hug before she went up to accept her third award for the night she had just performed with Madonna and had been announced as artist of the year. 

"I want to thank my mom and dad who are watching this. The love of my life, my daughter Belle, thank you for coming with me tonight, baby. And last but not least I want to thank the fans who have supported me all these years. I'm currently working hard to get ready for this tour to truly make it the best one yet, I love you all. Thank you so much," the audience cheered as Taylor went back to her seat. 

Belle couldn't help but feel guilty her mom would already be in the middle of tour if it weren't for her causing problems. She also felt slightly insignificant and unaccomplished when comparing herself to Taylor. The older women had just won three coveted awards and was about to embark on a sold out world tour and what had she accomplished? Cardiac arrest...twice...

Taylor tried to get her daughter to open up about what had happened on the red carpet over the next couple days, but Belle refused insisting she was fine. Taylor also suspected there was something else bothering her because the young girl was acting so unlike herself.
