Win continued to stare at his writing for several minutes and his mind was drawing blank. He knew from the bottom of his heart that there was no escaping fate, but he didn't want to give Gulf the reason to make fun of him even more.

Although the aim was an exposé, the seer's skill in divination had long been proven. And HE was the living proof of that. As stated, he and Gun first met the fortune teller before they graduated from college. Gun was the first to discover the lady and since he knew that Win was a believer in signs and "mystic arts", it wasn't too difficult to convince him to do some reading.

Gun didn't believe in prophecies, but his aunts were all divorced and he wanted to know if he would suffer the same fate. So, Win went with him, eager to hear the power of this woman who was infamous in her village for being a self-proclaimed prophet. They said that not only was she able to predict the weather correctly, but most of her divination of the future came true.

In spite of being a believer, Win didn't think much about the woman's skill. He only followed the words of the monks as advised by his sister and avoided anything that could possibly put him in an unfortunate circumstance. He also undergone reading with tarot card readers to gain insight into his future endeavor, but he had never met a self-proclaimed prophet before.

Imagine his shock when this woman prophesied his fate instead of Gun.

Since then, his life has never been the same.

"Are you going to go through with it?

Gun entered his office after a knock and closed the door behind him. Win sighed deeply, "I feel like I'm in limbo here. I don't want to meet her but I still believe her."

"Well, if you think about it, Tay isn't completely wrong. If you really want to take control of your life, then you shouldn't allow yourself to be influenced by her predictions."

"Two of her predictions came true, Gun. Even you couldn't explain that. Not to mention that she did say, we'll be together for a long time since we'll work for the same company. She got those right." Win pointed this out to his best friend.

Gun beams. "Yeah, but you must also admit that her extrapolation about your third romantic encounter is a bit of a stretch. I still believe that it might be a metaphor."

Drained from thinking, Win leaned on his chair and closed his eyes, trying to relax. "You know...he's perfect." Win broke the silence, "He is everything I always wanted and more."

"He makes you happy."

"He makes me feel...special." There was no denying that his past lovers made him doubt a lot about himself, and contributed to shaping the current Win. Whether it was positive or negative, only the other people could tell. But it protected him, long enough until he met Bright.

"What would you do if you happened to see one of your ex-lovers?"

One of Win's lids pulled back. "Hell, NO. Don't even try to mention their names! They will give me bad luck."

"I wasn't going to. I'm just wondering..."

Win rose from his chair groaning. "That's it. I'm done."

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going outside to get some air."

"Wait," Gun turned to see Win heading toward the door. "What am I supposed to tell Gulf?"

"Tell him I died and it's all his fault." Win opened the door and looked over his shoulder, "Don't forget to remind him that he'll pay for the funeral fees."

A stunning landscape of skyscrapers and colorful landmarks was waiting for him outside. Most people find the noises in the buzzing city bothersome but Win adores the noise and the daily humdrum of life. It reminds him of what it means to be human.
