I took a deep breath and locked my cabin. It was time to go home, I had to pass through the same way. The same dark alleyway will be there. That man will also be there, waiting for me to return his belongings back. My life is a mess. A literal mess. I wish I could turn things back to how they were. I wasn't in the place of doing anything except escaping, as far as I could escape from him, I will. I couldn't face him because he is a murderer. What if I consider him a generous person and tell him that his jacket has turned to ashes? What if my assumption gets wrong and he slices my throat in one shot? No no... I couldn't risk my life.

I stepped out of the office, all alone and scared. There was no one to scot me to home or to pick me up. What if I couldn't escape and get caught? My mind was flooding with millions of possibilities that could occur. I tightened my grip on my bag and took fast steps towards the bus stop. I successfully dodged that alleyway and wasn't caught. My constricted nerves relaxed when I saw the bus stop in front of my eyes. It was like I got a new life to live, where I was safe.

But somewhere in the corner of my subconscious mind, a thought came. For how long am I going to be like this, running away from him? Not today, but someday he will catch me for sure. In that case, I might get in a lot more danger than I am in right now. But I got no balls to tell him.

I was waiting for the bus to come when I saw a little brown dog. It was neither a pup nor a completely grown big dog. It was coming towards me. The way that dog was running, it's tail was flinging in air. My cuteness aggression was triggered badly and I couldn't hold myself from pampering that little soul. Dogs have always been my best friends since my childhood. They never judged me, never made me cry and never made me feel alone. I could spend my whole life with them. I remember for how many days I cried my eyes out when my dog died. I stood up and pulled the puppy in my arms. It was so cute and fluffy, but the main thing to be considered was that it was very tidy. Generally street dogs aren't this much tidy. It also smelled nice. It must have been someone's pet before. The dog licked my face multiple times as if I was a piece of some tasty meat which tickled me and I giggled in happiness.

By the time I was busy wiping my face with the tissues I had in my pocket, the dog jumped out of my hold. It ran towards my bag and grabbed it with it's mouth. Before I could analyse what it was about to do, it ran away. That fuckin' dog ran away with my bag? Seriously? I ran behind it as fast as I could with all my strength yet couldn't catch it. I forgot it is dog, it is a thousand times faster than humans when it comes to running.

I didn't know I came very far away from where I was. I kept running behind that dog like stupids that I didn't realise I reached somewhere which was still undiscovered by me. I didn't know, but accidentally, I went into that dark world that still exists in my daily passage way. I realised it when I found the similar alleyways in front of me. The same dark alleyways. I was stuck at the very fine boundary from where there was a loss on choosing any one of the path. I saw the faint reflection of that dog at the end of the alleway.

All I need to do is get inside, take my bag and get out. Simple. Don't panick, don't panick, everything will be alright. I'll be saved.

I was trying to motivate myself with all I could. I gathered the strength and went inside on my tip toes to avoid making any kind of noise. There was a single flash of light at the very end. At least it was better than what I was in yesterday. Few more steps and my bag wasn't much far away from me, I could see it clearly, which gave me a bit of relief. I sat down on my fours and slowly reached out for my bag. As soon as the bag was in my hand, I stood up and was about to run when someone grabbed my shirt from behind. I got stuck, I was so taken up by fear that my body wasn't responding.
