POV Ben
I went down to the kitchen and searched through the pantry for something to eat. Pumpkin, carrots, ginger... perfect! All the ingredients for a warm pumpkin soup, perfect for the cold season. I started cutting the ingredients and drifted off in my thoughts.
Mia was really sweet. Her brown, slightly wavy hair tied up with a small white bow. The brown eyes that looked at me so intently... there was something irresistibly cute about her. She would be a perfect little, my perfect little. Oh, what am I thinking, I'm here to make sure she doesn't leave too late and to make sure she's okay. That's it.
I put the vegetables in the pot with the boiling broth. I can't wait to get to know her more, to discover what lies behind those big brown eyes.
POV Mia
I had hidden in my room when he went to the kitchen to prepare the food.
I threw myself on the bed and hugged Teddy.
"Well, what do we think of him?" I asked him. He looked at me with his big button eyes.
I closed my eyes and recalled his image. At least a head taller than me, slightly muscular. Dark hair and eyes. His manner had something caring about it, something that made the butterflies in my stomach flutter.
I buried my head in my pillow. The scent of his deodorant still lingered in my nose. It smelled nice. He had this something about him that made me want to cuddle up in his lap.
So I lay there for a while, stretched out on the bed, my head in the pillow and Teddy in my arms.
I was half asleep until a knock on the door woke me up.
"Mia, are you there?" I heard, followed closely by the creaking of the opening door.

I was startled. Teddy, I need to quickly hide Teddy. Under the blanket with it. I had barely hidden Teddy when two brown eyes were already looking at me. Ben stood in the doorway and smiled at me. Oh crap, he probably saw Teddy, now he surely thinks I'm weird. Well, yes, I am weird, but he doesn't have to know that. I felt my cheeks flush and looked embarrassedly at the floor. Ben interrupted the awkward silence
"Do you want to come downstairs ? I did cook something "
Food sounds good, I can't remember the last time I ate something. I followed him down the stairs to the kitchen, it smelled delicious of pumpkin soup. When I sat down at the table, Ben placed a bowl of soup in front of me.
A little later:
Phew, that was really a big portion. Demonstratively, I pushed my half-full plate away from me. However, this action earned a stern look from Ben, but he didn't say anything.
"So, what's your plan for the next few days?"
"Not much, just school" I answered tiredly and looked at him. He had something indescribable about him, something in me wanted to snuggle up to his chest and cuddle.
But no, we don't like him, I reminded myself. I took my plate to the sink, wished him good night, and got ready for bed. It was already late and I had school tomorrow. Plus, I was afraid I would slip into Little Space if I stayed here any longer.
