The babysitter

Chapter 4

POV Mia
I was getting sick, my nose was completely closed and I had trouble breathing.
This evening I was extremly exhausted. It was a quite long day for me.
I went for a small walk outside in the park and in the afternoon I played some games with Ben.
But while dinner I had big troubles to not sleep in on the spot, so Ben sent me to bed and he took care of the dishes.
Now im in bed, I did put a comfy pj on, got teddy tight in my arm and my paci in my mouth.
I like my paci, it is white with some pink butterflies on it. And I like teddy too. And my sheep stuffie.
Right now, I'm watching some cartoons to calm down and fall asleep. I love falling asleep while watching movies, I dont know why, but it's very comfy.
I didn't eat much at dinner, so im still a bit hungry. I should have some snacks under my bed. Somewhere, down there, I reach deep down, still staying in bed. I did feel the box with the tip of my fingers, down down under my bed. I just gotta slide a bit more over the edge of the bed. Just an inch more, just a little bit
WOMBS
i dont know how it happend, but the next thing i knew was falling out of the warm bed onto the cold floor. My eyes started to water, holding Teddy close to me. I did look around.
I must have fallen to the floor and hit my head when reaching for the box with the snacks. My head is hurting and everything is spinning.
I whipe away my tears and look around in the room, thinking about what to do next, when I see the door opend and Ben staring at me. I didn't even hear him knocking. Well anyways, lets get up to bed.
Wait?!?! Ben is in my room. Ben is seeing me. My head starts spinning faster, my eyes watering again and i start trying to hecticly hide Teddy. What should I do??
I did drown in my overthinking, I didn't even notice him kneeling down in front of me.

POV Ben
I stood in the door frame and saw Mia, sitting on her floor in an adorable pyjama, holding a small teddy bear close to her chest.
Her look was a bit confused. She looked around. Then her eyes landed on me.
It took her quite a while till she realised im standing in the door frame, seeing her in that vulnerable state of mind.
When she recognized me her eyes widened and she started to tear up.
I grab a tissue, went a few steps towards her and kneeled down to her.
„Hey, Hey, everything is okay!" I tried calming her down while wiping her tears away.
She probably went to little space and somehow fall on the floor.
„Do you wanna tell me what happened?" I asked her while lifting her up in her bed again.
She did look at me with big eyes and started to stutter and mumble around. She must be a really small little.
„Did you wanna grab something „
She did nod, very shyly tho.
„Something from over there, at the desk?"
She shoke her head.
„From the nightstand?"
She shoke her head again.
„From under the bed?"
Yes, she wanted something from under the bed. I checked under the bed.
There is quite a bit of dust, and many boxes. A pink one, yellow and blue one.
After the same question asking game I found out, Mia wanted the yellow box.
I did grab it and gave it to her.
The whole time she hold her Teddy close to her chest and observed every movement I did.
„There you go, something else you need?"
She shoke her head again.
I wanted to leave the room, but saw her TV on.
„Mia, it is late for you, I dont think you should watch TV."
I turned it off, but earned a lot of protest for this.
„No mh no sweep nuh uh Bluey on" She did protest.
„You can't sleep in alone, without any Tv or sth like that?"
She did nod while eating some crackers that were in the yellow box.
„Do you think a bedtime story might help?"
She did nod with a very confused look.
I did pull her chair wich is standing by the desk, to her bed and turned off the light.
„Are you done eating and ready to go to sleep?" i asked her
She did rub her eyes and did briefly nod.
I took away the crackers, turned the light off and started reading a fairytale. „Rapunzel"
She did sleep in fast, small snores were escaping her little mouth, her teddy pressed against her chest, her sheep tight in her hand.
She had a small paci in her mouth, wich she tried to hide all the time.
She is quite adorable. I am curious, how this might continue.
