"WOULD you just look at the mess you made and i don't know.. do something about it?" (name) sighed loudly, pinching the bridge of her nose in an attempt to keep her composure but it was rather contradicting to the small but noticeable smile that could be seen creeping at the corners of her lips.

the female came back to the aftermath of the man-child's failed baking attempt. his apron and face was coated in baby blue frosting which erupted a soft giggle from (name) due to the fact that he looked identical to rainbow dash from my little pony. the rainbow sprinkles littered on his apron and face were not helping his case either.

"why don't you clean it up for me then, hm?" childe harmlessly joked, sweatdropping slightly at his wife's rather negative reaction. her smile dropped faster than the ginger's jaw. wrong move. his wife was like a ticking time bomb now, slowly and painfully counting down the last seconds of his time on earth. her lips parted in utter disbelief at his response. is this man serious right now?

childe just let out an awkward chuckle before shifting his attention to the horrid mess he had caused in the kitchen - specifically the oven.

inside the oven, batter could be seen covering every corner of the oven - the top, the bottom, the left and the right. the metal pan used to hold the batter was.. flipped over? how is someone this bad at baking? and.. how did he mess up this badly..?

childe bit his bottom lip, contemplating his life choices for a good minute before slowly turning around only to be met with the spatula positioned slightly above his eye level, ready to whack his forehead. the color drained from his face instantly. oh no. the spatula. the greatest weapon known to mankind. his fight or flight instinct was instantly triggered, childe was absolutely prepared to take off to another region barefooted when..

..the poor guy fell victim to the infamous, deadly, fatal, merciless and intimidating weapon otherwise known as the bringer of all evil. the spatula.

"ow! what the fu-" childe winced loudly, clutching his forehead at the sudden pain as his eyes squeezed shut.

"please cake it easy on me!" the male pleaded, eyes fluttering open to be met with the sight of (name) who was visibly unimpressed by his futile attempt at a dad joke.

"that hit was for blabbering nonsense without thinking and ruining the state of our newly bought oven, i wasn't mad. i just wanted an excuse to hit you honestly." (name) confessed playfully, shrugging her shoulders as her feigned anger dissipated in an instance. "that was a hilarious joke too," she sarcastically added.

though, her frown was quickly replaced by a warm smile, followed by soft giggles escaping her lips. "what are you laughing at?" childe asked, visibly puzzled at her sudden outburst of giggles. his eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion when his question was left unanswered.

instead of answering, (name) headed to their shared bedroom to grab a fresh cat designed napkin from the closet. she wetted it slightly before returning to the male who looked rather similar to a lost puppy standing in the middle of the kitchen waiting for its owner. (name) gently wiped the frosting and sprinkles off the confused male's face. upon realisation that there was probably frosting on his face, he bashfully scratched the nape of his neck. flashing her a soft toothy grin and a thumbs up to show his appreciation.

her little acts of care and how she always took care of childe reminded him of why he was enamoured for the woman before him. she always took care of him no matter what, prioritising him over even herself which would always result in a lecture from the male. honestly, even if she didn't shower childe with affection, he would still love her all the same for the way she treats those around her.

his gaze curiously flickered to her soft lips, hands moving to softly cup both her cheeks. she could feel his thumbs lightly caressing the skin of her cheeks, encouraging her to lean into his touch.

(name) could only watched with bated breath as the gap between the two of them slowly closed. they exchanged unspoken agreements merely through staring into each other's eyes before their lips connected as one for a fleeting moment. their hearts palpitated heavily in their chest, forming a melodic rhythm only they could decipher.

to childe, home was never considered a place. rather, a certain someone. he loves basking in her radiant presence. he loves relishing in the fleeting moments they spend by each other's side. he loves her. home is wherever (name) goes. he never wanted to leave her side afterall he found comfort admist chaos in her presence alone.

even though the kiss wasn't as prolonged as their usual kisses, they found themselves out of breath from how fast their hearts were racing. both of them were equally as flustered from the kiss they shared.

"you just caked my day," childe smugly blurted out.
"and you just caking ruined mine."
