"Hey boss, you need to see this." Satsu said frantically.
"What is it Satsu?" Tsunaka asked as he turned to face him.
"That little brat seems to have gotten the best of you. Look at what message I found hidden inside that letter you had me send." Satsu said angrily as he handed Tsunaka the paper.
Tsunaka, though confused, took it and read it over. His face then turned red with anger and he scrunched up the paper.
"Dammit." He mumbled as he stormed towards Tanjiro's room.
He unlocked the door and threw it open, startling Tanjiro who was just lying there staring at the ceiling.
"Is this some kind of a game to you!?" Tsunaka screamed, holding the paper up for Tanjiro to see.
Tanjiro stood up off the bed, realizing he'd been caught.
"You self entitled little punk!" Tsunaka screamed as he quickly stormed towards Tanjiro.
When Tsunaka stopped walking, their noses were almost touching one another.
"I told you you weren't gonna get away with it." Tanjiro said sternly.
Tsunaka yelled out angrily, wrapping his hands around Tanjiro's neck, lifting him off the ground and slamming him into the wall. Tanjiro gasped for air as he grabbed onto Tsunaka's arms.
"I'm not playing around. I told you there would be consequences if you tried calling out for help!" Tsunaka shouted.
Tanjiro didn't say anything. He couldn't. He could barely get any air in and out of his lungs. Tears welled up in his eyes from the pressure and his face began to turn blue.
"Boss, you're gonna kill him!" Satsu shouted, but Tsunaka was too blinded with rage to care.
"Boss, stop!" Satsu shouted again as he ran over to Tsunaka and tried to pry his hands away from Tanjiro's neck.
After struggling for a minute, Tsunaka finally calmed down enough to notice what he was doing. He let go of Tanjiro who fell onto the floor coughing and gripping his neck.
"Sorry. I don't know what got into me." He said as he looked over at Satsu who was just standing there in shock.
Tsunaka cleared his throat and straightened his jacket. "Satsu, gather some men. We're leaving tonight."
"Tonight? But our ship isn't due to arrive for another two days." Satsu said as Tsunaka began to walk away.
"Don't worry. There's a small fishing boat that we can use. I bought it in case of situations like this. You and I will take the boy to Germany tonight with the company of a few of our men. The rest will stay and leave at the scheduled time." Tsunaka responded without looking back at Satsu.
"Yes sir." He responded.
"Also, make sure the boy's okay. Seems I might've been a little too rough with him."
"Yes sir."
"Good. I'll go get our car ready. We leave at sunset." Tsunaka said as he left the room.
Satsu sighed and walked over to Tanjiro who was still on his knees and just barely recovering a normal breathing pattern.
"Sorry about that. I didn't think he'd get so angry after finding out what you did." Satsu remarked as he knelt down next to Tanjiro.
"I c-can't go to Germany." Tanjiro stuttered with a hoarse voice.
"Sorry kid. I don't make the rules." Satsu explained.
Tanjiro looked up at him and saw that he had a look of remorse on his face. Almost like he actually felt bad about what happened.
"Why did you join the mafia?"
"What?" Satsu asked in shock.
"Why did you join?" Tanjiro asked again.
"Family issues." Satsu responded without saying anything else.
Tanjiro figured he wouldn't push it and didn't ask anymore questions. Satsu stood up and walked away, not saying anything to Tanjiro when he did.A few hours later, just before sunset, Tsunaka, Satsu, and a few men walked into the room. Tanjiro was sitting on the bed and didn't bother standing up like he usually did. Tsunaka walked over to Tanjiro with a chain in his hands.
"Stand up." He ordered.
Tanjiro knew there was no point in fighting him so he listened.
"Hold out your arms."
Tanjiro, once again, obeyed. Tsunaka wrapped the chain around Tanjiro's wrists, making sure it was as tight as possible. Every time it was pulled tight Tanjiro flinched in pain. Tsunaka attached the padlock and pulled at the chain to ensure it wouldn't come loose, which it didn't.
"Now, you are going to follow every rule and every direction we give you. If you don't, you're not going to like the consequences." Tanjiro didn't say anything. He just nodded his head.
"Good." Tsunaka responded.
He grabbed the excess chain that was just hanging there and handed it to Satsu.
"You're in charge of making sure he can't run away."
"Yes sir." Satsu responded as he took the chain.
"Let's get moving." Tsunaka said as he walked away.
Satsu turned and began to follow him. Tanjiro wasn't paying attention and didn't know they were leaving until Satsu yanked on the chain, pulling Tanjiro's arms forward.
"Pay attention kid. We don't have all night." Satsu commented as he and Tanjiro began walking towards the car.
