"Fatima it ain't like that." He says.
"Then what is it like then Zac, cause from where I'm standing it damn sure looks that way." I say.
"You ain't no rebound girl." He says.
"Then what girl am I Zac?" I ask.
"You're the girl that I'm falling for." He says.
"Zac." I say sighing.
"I'm serious." He says grabbing my hand.
"How can you be falling for me when you still love her?" I ask pulling my hand away.
"I don't know, all I know is how I feel about you and how I feel when I'm with you." He says.
"And how do you feel?" I ask.
"Like I can be the man that you need and that I know I can be. I can do whatever I want or need to do to become a better man." He says.
"I didn't know I made you feel like that." I say.
"You do and I know that you feel the same about me you're just scared because of what happened between her and I but I guarantee you that it won't happen again Fatima. I didn't know how you felt about me then but I do now if you can just trust me and let me in." He says pulling me closer to him.
We stare into each other eyes for a couple of seconds and he starts to lean forward with me doing the same. Our lips are a few inches apart when I start to get flashes of him and Karen.
"I can't." I say pulling away.
"Fatima." He says.
"I think we need time." I say.
"Time for what?" He ask.
"Time for you to figure out who it is that you actually want." I say.
"I don't need time, I know who I want and I want you." He says with no hesitation.
"Will I need time to figure out if I can be with a man who's still in love with his ex." I say.
