"I'm done, Riya!" I heard Hamilton. "If bathing myself becomes the death of me, I will pin the blame on you!" I facepalmed as he came out of the bathroom. When I looked up, I saw that his clothes fit perfectly. He was wearing a dark green jacket with a white shirt, along with a pair of dark blue jeans. "How do I look my-I mean, Riya?" he asked. "You...look...PERFECT! You'll definitely blend in now! Now c'mon! Let's go clothes shopping!" I yelled happily, dragging his arm. I dragged him out to the parking lot, where he yelped once more and hid behind me. "What are those shiny abominations?!" he shrieked. "Right..." I muttered. I had completely forgotten about cars. "These 'shiny abominations' are cars. They are the most common transportation the modern day has. Don't worry about it being harmful, because it isn't." It took me some time to get Alexander into the car, but I eventually got him to do it, with much, much coaxing. So much coaxing...Anyways, as we drove to the mall, Alexander pointed out and questioned random things we drove by, and I answered them for him. By the time we got there, Alexander knew much more about the modern world than he did before.
The mall was crowded like always, and I immediately dragged Alexander into a random shop. I dragged him over to the Men's Section where I picked an assortment of clothes for him to try on. Then I proceeded to make Alex try on combos of these clothes and picked out the ones we liked the best. In the end, we ended up buying a few items and returning the rest to their designated spots. As we were coming out of the store, I caught sight of two people, a man and a woman, dressed in weird, official black clothing. They were wearing sunglasses and what looked like mics on their faces, and were hiding within one of the clothing racks. As Alex and I walked away, the woman seemed to whisper something into the mic. I narrowed my eyes at the sight and took note of it in my head.
3RD POV
"Sir, we have found the target." the lady spoke into the microphone. Chattering came from the other end as both people nodded. "Very well, we shall continue to watch them, sir, and if others arrive, we shall secure them and turn them in to you." the man piped up. This was followed by more chattering. After the talk ended, the two looked at each other, and slipped out of the clothing rack and the store.
RIYA POV
"So, got all of that?" I asked him. We were back at my apartment, where I was explaining how he was supposed to behave at my school. It was true he was still recovering from the bullet, but I couldn't just leave him alone in my house, either. He would either blow it up, or set it on fire, and both things I did not want to happen. This apartment was rented, for starters, and I would probably get sued or something. So, it was decided (in my head) that Alexander would come with me to my university. So after explaining basic modern equity to Alexander, I went to go make lunch. I was too lazy to make actual dinner, so I just decided to order take-out. Pizza would be nice. I thought as I scrolled through the Garlic Jim's app. I ordered a medium cheese and two Sprites. The doorbell rang after twenty minutes, making Alexander jump. Damn, that was fast. I thought as I got the food and handed the delivery guy a tip. I brought it back to the living room, where Alexander was binging through Netflix. "No...no...hell no wtf?!" he muttered as he scrolled through various shows. I sighed as I laid two plates down and put pizza slices on them. "Um...what is this...thing, Riya?" he inquires. "Oh, that's pizza." I said bluntly. "Peeet-zahhh?" he drags out the word. "What is 'peeeet-zahh'?" "Only like, the best thing in the world!" I exclaim, taking a big bite out of my slice. "It has cheese, dough, tomato sauce-" "TOMATOES?!" Alexander suddenly explains. I look at him weirdly. "My la-Riya! Tomatoes are poisonous! You can't eat them!" I blink, then laugh in relief. "That's what this is about!" I took the time to explain the concept that the tomatoes weren't poisonous, and they were perfectly okay to eat. I even took two more bites out of my pizza slice to prove it. After much explaining (and much more coaxing) I got Alexander to take a bite. I also told him about carbonated water when he did a spittake with the Sprite. "Tomatoes as food and spicy water? Goodness me, the world really is coming to an end..." he whispered as I facepalmed once more. How much more explaining will I have to do to this man...?
