Hello there!
Okay, so... Five years ago in a galaxy far, far away, I wrote this story titled Buckets. Initially, it was supposed to be a one-off short story I wrote for fun and posted for a handful of friends to read about a no-name one-off Stormtrooper named Dorn... literally the letter 'D' in aurebesh. He was never supposed to be anything special at all in the beginning. I never expected it to literally get (at the time I'm writing this) over twenty-eight thousand reads and one point seven thousand votes. That is absolutely insane.
Yet here we sit, five whole years later, and the reads are still climbing and the votes keep going up, and after all this time I still have people coming back to re-read it again. It's wild to think about. The story itself doesn't revolve around big canon characters. There's no Luke, Han, or Leia. No Anakin, Obi-Wan, or Ahsoka. It's just Dorn, a simple Stormtrooper, and his squad. And people kept coming back and reading for him despite that. That was the coolest thing for me, and I'm still not quite in a place where I am believing it.
This story, Buckets: A Star Wars Story [The Anniversary Edition] is my love letter to the old and oft neglected original story that sparked what is in essence a duology of epic proportions that spawned from a short story idea I hatched as a side hobby that has since inspired me to write multiple spin-offs despite crippling setbacks in my personal and professional life. Dorn has been there with me through a lot and has helped me navigate a lot of personal challenges I've had since I started writing him years ago. He helped me deal with loss, changes, and growth as I navigated through my life, and I feel like now is the time I give him the love and attention that he so rightfully deserves. Buckets needs a new coat of paint to celebrate five years on Wattpad, and I couldn't think of a better way than giving it the tune up it needs.
To all of my readers both new and returning, I hope you enjoy what I'm doing for the old boy. The new chapters will be released slowly in chunks over the coming months to ensure that we keep up with the quality of the edits. Thank you all so much for reading!
