"This is why I hate traveling with you" China said she put her bag in the check-in area.
" I'm sorry, I just had to make sure that I had everything" Daisy apologized as she put her own bag forward, which was double the size of China's despite the fact that they had visited Cape Town for the same two weeks.
"I'm glad I get to fly out to London with you" she said as she tipped the attendant. The girls were both flying to London, where from there China would fly straight to Paris and take a drive to Monaco.
As they settled into the business lounge and got themselves a drink, a glass of juice for both, China settled in a seat near the window, watching the planes taxi and take off.
"Why do you keep looking at me like that" she asked after a while, Daisy's peculiar stare distracting her.
"How does it feel seeing him again for the first time after everything" Daisy asked.
This is the first time China would be seeing Nico after her break up with Charles. They still spoke to each other everyday, only going a few hours without one person or the other initiating a new topic, but never discussing the magazine exclusive.
" I don't know how I feel about everything" China said, which was true. She hadn't thought about what would happen after they saw each other again. As much as they said that they were friends, it was clear that was no longer the truth. All China could think was that she didn't know if she could live in this limbo any longer.
"The real question is what do you feel about him" Daisy asked taking a sip of her juice.
"I've never felt like this before, not even for Charles" she said honestly. The more she thought about the Spanish man, the bigger her smile went across her face, and it was clear for anybody to see.
"Let me be frank with you" Daisy said sitting up and staring directly at her best friend.
"From everything that I've seen in my trip here, every time I see you, you're on your phone texting this man or calling him, laughing at his jokes and speaking sweet nothings to each other in Spanish. At least that's what they sound like to me" China chuckled as she continued to listen.
"Friend, I think you're in love" she said, sitting back.
"In love? Come on now, I barely know this man."
"A lot can happen in a short time." Daisy retorted. "If you don't believe me, think back to your life before you start this project and look at your life now."
Chins realized she was right, she was a completely different person. She started out as someone who seemed to be looking towards her dreams and fulfilling her goals but now, as the product was coming to a close, she realized that she had blossom into a woman that now loved adventure, exploring new things, especially new sports. Most importantly, she was the most free and happy and herself when she was with Nicolas.
"I am in love", she said to herself as the flight attendant called for boarding over the speakers.
