MIRA
"Mom?" I call and walk down the stairs.
"In here, sweetie." She calls back from the living room. I walk in the direction of her voice and sit on the couch in front of her.
"I have something to tell you..." I bring it up awkwardly, and I wish I hadn't. Her eyes go wide and she stands up and moves across the living room to sit next to me. She takes my hand and looks me in the eye. "It's not bad, I promise. Maybe good?" I can visibly see the worry float off of her back.
"What is it, dear?"
"Okay, so you know how I have a few Instagram accounts and stuff?" I take a deep breath as she nods. I'm not only telling her about the contest but W, as well. "Well, I posted something and someone thought it was really touching, so he DMed me and we have been talking for over six months now. He has become a good friend of mine." I smile.
Mom smiles as well. "Keep going." She urges.
"And there was this contest I saw on TV about William Rivers. He is having a contest and if you win, you get invited to his next movie premier that is in about three weeks. What you have to do is make a video saying why you would like to meet William and stuff like that. And I talked to W about it-"
"Who's W?"
"Oh, that's my internet friend I just told you about. He didn't want me to know his name at first so we just called each other M and W. His name is Will, too." I laugh lightly.
"Alright, keep going about the contest."
"Okay. So W said I should enter because I'm completely obsessed with William. And so I did, I made a video explaining why William saved my life and about me and stuff. Anyways after I told Will I sent it, he said that he would tell William to look out for me, because they are friends or something.
"And if I get an email from either William or his manager, then I won the contest, along with a bunch of other people and we get to go on the red carpet and stuff of his premier and I think I have a good chance of winning, mom. If I could go, this would mean everything to me." I plead.
"Where is it?" She asks.
"In Seattle." I answer way to quickly. "It's only a two hour drive and I thought maybe we could stay a night or two and maybe go to the space needle and stuff with you."
"Me? Honey, I think you are just looking for an excuse to stay longer so you can see William." Mom laughs.
"That is true as well." I nervously chuckle.
"If you win, we will do whatever you want sweetie. I know how much it will mean to you." She smiles.
"Really?!" I nearly scream and tackle her in a bear hug.
"Really really." She laughs as she pries my arm from around her.
"Thank you."
"It's if you win." She reminds me.
"If course."
Right on cue, my phone vibrates in my pocket.
"That can only be two things." I breath.
"Want me to check it?" My mom grins. I slide over my phone and she takes a look.
"Well, Mira." She smiles. "It looks like we are going to Seattle."
