+ + Chapter 2 + +One night wouldnt hurt.. + +

After walking for around half an hour or so we came to an opening. Cars were abandoned with blood spattered on the windows and bags without owners sprawled across the road with clothes hanging out of them. There were no walkers in sight but a group of people huddled together, a few scouting the area for supplies. The man I had traveled with, whistled gathering the attention of the people around us. They stared at me, some had looks of confusion, some with worried looks like I was one of the dead. I looked at my feet, beginning to fidget with my hands. 'Ay, we found sofias doll..' The man grabbed the doll out of his pocket and held it up so the group could see. One women began to sob quietly, running over to the doll, hugging it tightly into her arms. 'You found this?' She cried 'where? Thank you.. thank you so much..' I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. The women smiled and hugged me. I was taken aback but loosely wrapped my arms around her back, attempting a hug.

What looked like a police officer, or something like that, walked over to me putting his hand out for what I had guessed a hand shake. 'Rick. Rick grimes. And you are..?' The man smiled softly as I grabbed his hand shaking it. 'Y/n L/n. I found this doll in a quarry a few miles west. Until I came across him-' I looked over to the man beside me. 'And I cared to his wounds, and he helped me up....then that's when he noticed the doll' I looked at the doll in Ricks hands. 'So you've met dayrl..' He chuckled and motioned to dayrl who was now walking off. I turned back to Rick and he began asking me questions about the doll and if I had seen a girl named Sofia near by. I have him all the information I could, hoping it would help, but I doubt it would.

The wind whistled softly, and a fire crackled in front of us. The trees had quiet conversations with each other, sometimes brushing against each other. I had learned most the names of the people in the group. Most of them greeted me with a warm welcome, and a thank you for finding the doll. On the other hand, a women called Andrea wasn't so keen. She gave me a look of discuss and constantly bugged Rick trying to talk to him about my arrival earlier. I could tell she wanted me gone, and I can see that I'm new and may be dangerous but I meant no harm really. If anything i wanted to keep moving and not look back, but something was telling me to stay.  One night wouldn't hurt anyway.

I soon figured Daryl wasn't very talkative, and that was probably the reason he had walked away earlier without responding to me. He intrigued a part of me, and it drew me towards him. Anyway, at this moment in time he doesn't matter so I won't bother another thought on him.

As the moon shon on my h/c hair and sparkled in my e/c eyes, I sat on the grass a few meters away from the road. It was peaceful and I couldn't get any sleep anyway. Someone had to keep watch, so I had volunteered as it seemed this group had gone through enough anyway and all they needed was some sleep.

I heard Some footsteps behind me, causing a twig to snap. I didn't move my head, gathering it wasn't a Walker or I would have heard a moan or groan. 'What are ya doing out here?' I sighed looking at the stars. It was dayrl. 'Keeping watch. Can't sleep?' I said turning to face him. 'Nah, I don' trust you. I'm keeping watch on you and the camp.' I rolled my eyes and scoffed. 'Like I'd do anything! I helped you earlier and I didn't even get a thanks' I furrowed my eyebrows, waiting for an answer but there was no reply. Only the sound of grasshoppers and the distant swaying of the trees filled my ears. 'God why are you so-' I turned around to find dayrl had gone. 'rude...' I was going to prove to him that I was trustworthy, and I had to find that little girl. Maybe this group could help me a little. I had been alone for a while, and some company couldn't do any harm. I was actually a pretty talkative bubbly person but I'd seen people turn on each-other in a flash at the beginning of all this and I didn't want to take the risk. This group just pulled at something in me but I plan to leave in the morning. Id caused enough trouble as it is..
