PS: Don't like, don't read. It's as simple as that.
It all started with Sarv introducing Eli and Anzhel to Carol; who immediately hit it off with Eli and Anzhel.
A couple months after their first meeting, Eli and Anzhel had agreed to a hangout at Carol's house with her roommate and (at the time) girlfriend.
"Feel free to make yourselves at home." Carol said. "I'll get some snacks. Sunday should be up in a few."
Eli nodded as the younger woman walked off.
"Thank goodness America is more inclusive towards people on the taller side." Anzhel said in relief. "I miss Russia, but I don't miss sticking out like a sore thumb and bumping into ceilings and other stuff 24/7. Now that I think about it, papa must've felt outcasted and alienated from everyone else. Poor him..."
Eli sadly nodded in agreement. Things definitely weren't easy for her and her sister due to their heights, but it was definitely much harder for their dad.
After standing where she was in silence for a couple seconds, she sighed and went to sit on the couch; immediately getting body slammed the second her butt made contact with the cushion.
Anzhel's eyes widened. "HOLY FU-"
Eli was born with an inability to feel pain or temperature, but while she wasn't able to feel the pain that came with hitting the floor; she still felt the impact and the air cutting off from her lungs.
It turns out that Sunday, Carol's roommate, had been sleeping on the couch and Eli didn't see her.
Not the best first meeting with someone, but hey; at least it wasn't as bad as her brother's first meeting with her sister-in-law.
And besides; she and Sunday ended up apologizing to each other and became friends so it was all good in the end.
***
Sunday was 24 and Eli was 44 at the time. Two years have passed since that and the two were now 26 and 46 respectively.
Sunday and Carol broke up and Sunday started a band; effectively becoming its lead vocalist and lead guitarist.
Eli and her siblings' criminal records aren't cleared, so there wasn't much they could do for work. Eli and Anzhel always went out with disguises on so that they wouldn't be recognized while Ruv refused to step a foot outside of the Church and would not hesitate to shake his sisters aggressively and yell at them to be careful before letting them off.
Speaking of Ruv, he immediately pulled his sister in for a bone-crushing hug as she walked in.
"Good evening, brat (brother)." Eli wheezed out, resisting the urge to cry. It didn't feel painful, but it still felt SO uncomfortable.
"I get that you're happy to see your sis, but give her some space, homie!" Sunday said. "She needs to breathe too."
"Sorry." Ruv apologized as he let go of his sister.
"It's fine." Eli said in between coughs and gasps for air.
Sunday gave Eli a pat on the back, prompting Ruv to hum before throwing a pouch at them.
Sunday looked at the Russian in confusion.
"Anyone who is willing to protect my sister when she goes out and does a good [dang] job at it deserves human decency from me." Ruv said. "Sestra told me you like salsa, so I saved some of Sarv's salsa for you."
"Thank you..." Sunday said before turning to Eli. "You good?"
Eli's lips twitched into a small smile. "I'm alright. Thank you, Sunday."
