THEO
I hate parties. If it weren't for Matteo's dumbass, I wouldn't even be here. But, here I am. Sitting in a bedroom of a frat house with people I've never met. Playing alcohol activities. I refuse to call them anything other than "alcohol activities" because it pisses Matteo off.
"This is fucking stupid." I grumbled. The only person that heard me was Matteo. That dick. He made me come to this dumb party. We locked eyes and he gave me a smug smile, which I returned with a glare that could kill. Matteo laughed and turned to talk to some blonde next to him.
I rolled my eyes at her. I had seen her around and I knew her name, but I didn't care enough to remember what it was. Jenna? Jenny? Jen? Something like that, I don't know. I looked down at the red "SOLO" cup in my hand and stared at my reflection on the top of the contents of the cup.
"Theo, dude, did you hear me?" I blinked and looked up to see Matteo staring at me. Shit. "Sorry, I zoned. What did you say?"
Matteo chuckled and repeated his question, "Vivian suggested we play spin the bottle, wanna play?" I shook my head, "No, I'm good thanks." I smiled. Vivian? Damn, I was way off. Shit.
Matteo groaned. "Oh, come on, Theo. You're such a wet blanket." His words were slurring slightly. Great. Another night of babysitting Mr. Perfect.
I crossed my arms, and gave him a look. '"Do you even know what being a wet blanket means?" He smiled sheepishly. "Nope. Just sounded cool." I rolled my eyes and chuckled slightly, "You're insufferable." He put his hand over his heart and fake gasped. "Rude!"
I leaned against a wall and watched him for a little while. I worried about him, he had been drinking more lately. When I tried to bring it up to him, he shrugged it off. I observed his swaying, which was progressively getting worse because in their game, if you didn't want to kiss the other person you had to drink.
He hasn't kissed anyone. It's landed on Vivian like three times. "Huh. Weird." I said to myself and shrugged. I pulled out my phone and scrolled on "TikTok" for I don't know how long.
After what felt like an eternity of scrolling, I feel someone tap my shoulder. I flinch at the sudden touch. I turn my head, "Sorry." Vivian is standing there with a worried look on her face. Ugh, i hate her face. Not because she's a bad person, Vivian is really fucking nice. I hate her because she's drop-fucking-dead gorgeous.
"Oh, Vivian right?" I asked in a small tone. She smiled half-heartedly, "Yeah." I raised an eyebrow, "You good?" She shrugged. "Tired." I nodded. "I get it." She nodded in response. I looked past her to find Matteo laughing with a few other football players. She turned to see what I was looking at, "Matteo, huh?"
I looked at her with a confused face, "What?" She didn't look back at me. "You like Matteo." I blushed in embarrassment, "Wha- I- No! Of course not. We're just friends." I looked back at my phone. She finally turned to face me and crossed her arms over her chest. "Mhm. Sure."
I looked back up at her and glared. "Did you need something?" She put up her hands in surrender, "Hey, don't glare at me like that. If my girlfriend see's, she might kick your ass." My eyes widened. "Girlfriend?" She smiled and nodded. "Oh, cool." I said, what else was I supposed to say? 'Thank you for your lesbian-ness'?
"Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you might wanna get Matteo out of here soon. He's pretty drunk." I looked past her at Matteo and sure enough, he was very drunk. "God damnit, Matteo." I grumbled to myself. She chuckled. "Thanks for warning me, Vivian, right?" She nodded. "No problem, Theo. See you around." She walked away, leaving me to figure out how I'm gonna get Matteo's drunk ass out of this basement.
Thanks, Vivian.
