Although his attention was undoubtedly needed elsewhere, it was immensely difficult for him to tear his eyes away from the sight in front of him. That inattentive expression, the way those soft, gentle hands worked elegantly, and that soft, slightly round, and chubby face had the tough man completely enamored. As his smaller wife sat with her legs beneath the kotatsu, peeling away the mandarin oranges for him, he couldn't help but swoon.
'Just that expression alone is cute, but her gentle dedication to the craft is so endearing, its cuteness is immeasurable!' Warumono thought, his heartbeat continually increasing. 'Those cheeks, she looks just like a panda at this angle- no, cuter! She's even cuter than a panda! How is this possible!?' He crosses his arms, watching her through his dark bangs. He shifted his legs underneath the kotatsu, unable to sit still.
'Something so cute must be cherished and cuddled! I wish to cuddle her right now!' His lips almost turned into a thin pout. 'But is that appropriate to ask? She's clearly focused and it would be unwise to bother her, I do wish to enjoy those oranges after all..'
'Telling her won't hurt, I'll make quick and easy conversation! That'll do, surely!' Except his words got caught in his throat, the tall man cursed inwardly. He rubbed at his throat, trying to coax out the proper words before-
"Hun, look!" Her eager voice caught his ears before her bright expression took his heart. She held up two freshly peeled slices of a mandarin orange up to her head. Their shape and placement mimicking-
"Like a panda! Aren't I cute?"
In that moment, the man's soul left his body.
He gripped at his chest, his heart almost aching from the sheer cuteness. 'This woman is-' Without finishing that thought, he lifted 'name' up into his lap, his long arms wrapped around her waist as he buried his face into her hair.
"Cute... doesn't even begin to cover it..
There really is.. nothing cuter than you.."
After a moment, the words slip from his heart. 'Name' was slightly surprised by the sudden movement, dropping the slices. She then laughed, finding his own actions adorable. "Aww, really? I think you're rather cute, yourself!" She gently kissed his temple, a short jolt shook its way through his body as her soft, warm lips touched his skin. "I think I'll stay here.."Much to his surprise, even moments small like this were worthy enough for his precious days off. Maybe it was just her presence..? He looked down at her, that bright smile, the way her soft hands gently fed him the orange slices, and how she could ramble on and on for hours..
'Should I really.. bring feeling such a way for a human..?' He looked up in thought before resting his head back down. 'That's a question for another day..'
