Falling Into Place ch. 1: Goodbye Charlie (???)

"Hey Charlie! It's Teddy, and I'm about to make my very last video diary."
Teddy Duncan sat down at her kitchen table and tucked a strand of her short, blonde hair back behind her ear. She was sad today because, at the moment, she was making her last video diary for Charlie-- and she had some big news to tell the rest of her family.
"You know," Teddy spoke into he camera. "it seems like just yesterday I was making he first one of these. I remember it so well: Spencer was coming over for a study date, and you were covered in smooshed bananas-- speaking of Spencer--"
Just then, Amy walked into the kitchen. "Hey, Teddy,"
Teddy glanced into the camera another time before temporarily flipping it shut. "Hold on, Charlie."
I have important news to talk with mom about right now, Teddy thought as she turned to face Amy.
"Hi, mom, there's something I need to tell you." Teddy strung her words together so Amy could barely understand what she was saying.
"What is it honey?" Amy said, taking a sip of orange juice and leaning against the counter. None of her kids had come to her to talk to her about anything lately, so Amy was immediately interested.
"Well--" fat tears welled up in Teddy's eyes. She could not believe she had gotten herself into this mess.
"Honey, are you okay?" Amy looked into her eldest daughters eyes with genuine sympathy.
"Mom, I'm pregnant!" Teddy blurted out between two sobs.
Amy spit out the water she had just almost swallowed. Her hand flew to her mouth, and she had tears blooming in her eyes as well. She leaned over and hugged Teddy tightly while whispering, "Spencer?"
"Spencer."
