•CHAPTER 24•

1 Month Later- Sunday
Icelynn's POV

Finding out Kass was back in the streets was stressing Matt the hell out. I told him that I wasn't getting involved with him and his bullshit but he insisted that I helped him move his work.

"Matthew I told you I was out of the game, what don't you understand about that?" I fussed with him as he paced back and forth in the kitchen. I was preparing breakfast for the both of us. Even though he kept claiming that he wasn't hungry.

I was also tired of him complaining about how he didn't have any runners besides a few guys he was thinking about cutting off and Huncho who just had entered the house from a previous run and greeted us. He took a seat at the kitchen table, but he didn't seem like himself, which was unlike him.

"This nigga came back and tryin' to take my shit from me Ice. Me and Hunch can't do this shit alone and the niggas I was runnin' with started workin' for Ray punk ass." Matt mugged me and looked over at Huncho who was just staring at us argue.

"Fuck wrong wit you nigga?" Matt asked Huncho. He knew something was wrong with his friend.

He shook his head before speaking out, "It's about Ray man, you might not like the sound of the shit but I need to tell you. It's only right man."

Matt waved him off and took a blunt out his pocket, instantly lighting it and took a drag from it. I hate it sometimes when he smoked. It's like he lost his damn mind when he did. "I don't wanna hear shit about that bitch ass nigga. He thought it was cool to have my people come work for him but keep me out the equation, like I wasn't gon find out."

"Baby just hear him out. Huncho ain't ever this quiet. This has to be serious." I turned the stove off finished with the food and turned my attention to Huncho.

"Yo pops...Ray, they found that nigga dead in his office at Covergirls." He revealed the news and I just shook my head in disbelief. Everyone knew that Ray was invincible and untouchable but somebody got him and I really hoping it wasn't his own child but Matthew wasn't that dumb to kill his own father. At least I wouldn't think so.

Matthew just stood there, smoking his blunt as if his friend didn't even tell him anything important. "You aight?" I asked grabbing his shoulder but he moved away from me.

"I'm good. Huncho, you got the packs I told you to pick up from the new connect?" He completely dismissed the topic at hand which I knew was bothering him because that's the only time he would do something like that.

"Yeah bro I got everything. I put that shit in safe at the trap so we all good to go." Huncho replied taking the blunt from Matt and smoked it. "Whatchu over there cookin' Ice? Smells good."

"I got pancakes, eggs, sausage and potatoes. You can help yaself to whatever, I made plenty." I smiled and fixed Matt's plate which he didn't even want.
"Bae, you gotta eat. C'mon...I know it's a lot to take in right now about your father but—"

"You don't know shit Ice. Don't tell me how to feel. That nigga ain't mean shit to me and he never will!" He shouted at me but I know he didn't mean it, he clearly was just upset.

Our whole day consisted of him not talking to me and whenever he did, it was with attitude. I was trying to be there for Matt but he wanted to act tough as usual.
