Jung Woo-sung

He made sure to clear his schedule for the whole day and spent his time going around, hiding under the pretense of hotel inspection, in hope to catch sight of Hye-soo.  It wasn't to bug her into accepting his invite or to continue their interrupted conversation.   Now that he knows she's having personal problems, his plans to pursue her definitely has to wait.  For now, he just want to make sure she's alright.

He approached the reception when he saw the woman he asked information from yesterday.  Looking at the name plate, he called her by name.

"Ji-eun.  I have a favor to ask."

The reception lady, Ji-eun, was hesitant.  At first she didn't mind her boss asking about one particular guest.  The chasing of two well-known actors at the lobby was a sight enough to make someone curious to ask.  The decision not to accommodate Choi Won-young was explained as well – her boss didn't want the hotel to be dragged by the conflict of two famous actors – and she bought his reasons.  However, Jung Woo-sung asking her to disclose a guest information, because he apparently knows Kim Hye-soo but didn't know her room number and her length of stay, is just questionable to her.  But after careful consideration and Woo-sung assuring her that he got her covered, Ji-eun finally gave him the details.

Woo-sung wanted to think that he is not too desperate enough to come barging in at Hye-soo's room.  But he knew that if he didn't see her anytime soon, he will send someone in just to make sure that she's okay.

He looked around once more and saw her stepping out the elevator.  He thought of how to approach her first without looking too eager for her attention but got surprised when Hye-soo gave him a curt nod of acknowledgment as she approached him.

"I haven't seen you the whole day."  He settled for that greeting before realizing his mistake.  'Great!  She doesn't owe you anything, idiot.' He mentally scolded himself.

"I wasn't feeling well so, I took a rest."  Still she responded, giving him a small smile.

"I hope you're better now."

"I am.  Thanks."

Hye-soo waited for few seconds as if waiting if he has more to say before leaving.  He just wished her a good night and she did the same before heading to the direction of the cafe.

Before making his way to his room, Woo-sung turned to Ji-eun and saw her relief that he was telling the truth about knowing Hye-soo.  He then made arrangements to send fresh fruits to Hye-soo's room early the next day.

He took a quick bath and tried to catch up on work but he was too distracted.  He knew he is probably the least of Hye-soo's concerns right now but he couldn't help but cringe just thinking about how smug he must have looked yesterday when he straightforwardly asked her out.  Deciding that he will not get sleep if he didn't do anything about it anytime soon, he put on a sweater and tried his luck in looking for her.

He found Hye-soo at the cafe.  She was sitting at a corner, reading a book he didn't notice she was carrying earlier.

After ordering hot chocolate for himself, he went straight to her table.

"Do you mind?"  He asked.

Hye-soo looked up at him.  Surprise and hesitation is evident on her face but then she gave him a curt smile before responding.  "Sure."
