*Warning this will have spoilers*
Also I don't have all the details, this is just what my sibling told me and what we found online.
So this use to be one of my favorite anime. They only had two seasons but you just can't help but fall in love with the anime even though the anime isn't completed.
Then there is the manga. That is what I am going to be talking about because I just learn about this today.
So my sibling and I learn that at the end of the whole entire series there are two endings. There is the cannon one and the non cannon one which is pretty much an extra chapter/episode which turn out to be non cannon but a lot of people would like it or wish for it to be cannon.
So the non cannon ending is jyugo and his cell mates leave the prison and go on there own path promising to meet again. This is the ending that people would believe would happen at the end of Nanbaka.
Then there is the canon ending. It turn out Jyugo cell mates, his so call friends were all fake. In the end of the manga Jyugo was able to get his shackles off of him which turn out to do some stuff.
The shackles seem to not only gave him the power to use the swords but it also seem to give him emotions. He was emotionless this whole time and the shackles seem to give him those emotions that he was missing. The issue was those shackles also steal away all his other powers. His father was the one to put those things on him in the first place. This whole time he wanted them off him but couldn't get them off without help.
Now his father did work for the man with the scar but he also seem to be a horrible person. We don't know if the man with the scar was actually a good person or not as my sibling and I can't really read the manga but we do know jyugo was tested on.
The way his father put those shackles on him were horrible though. He was a child when his father put those things on him and he seem to did it by removing his arm and putting it on that way. I don't know if they just stick the arm back on him, if his arm heal back to his body, or he grew a new arm but they did this tactic with all of his limbs. The one around his neck I don't know how they put that one on and I really don't want to know.
Now onto his so call friends that stab him in the back. So apply they kill him. Now Jyugo seem to be immortal as the man with the scar ending up saying that and his so call friends kill him. They were also faking on being his friend so they can get what they want from him. I don't know what they wanted from him rather that was escaping or not just know this whole time they were faking being friends with him and didn't care for him. They pretty much saw him as a tool that they could use as many times they want. They did look guilty when he did remember and try to apologize but that doesn't just fix everything. They could just be feeling guilty because they were caught and he now remembers. There is a chance that deep down inside of them they did care about Jyugo but with how everything just spill out, I don't know if that true.
Then there the memories. Jyugo seem to have memory lost. Now I don't know how this happen. This could of happen because of the shackles, this could of happen because they killed him, or his memories were steal inside him. When Jyugo remember he said in I Quote "You killed me every single day." Now I don't know what he ment by that. Did they kill him Physically? Like murdering him every single day to make him not remember? Could they be murdering him every single day because he is immortal and that they can? Or did he ment Mentally because they were Manipulating him and faking being his friend this whole time. I don't know if he ment physically or mentally. All I know is that they were not the people I though they were.
Now there is the whole thing of him dying and coming back. My sibling said that after his so call friends kill him, he was brought back by someone. I don't know if that true though because he is immortal. He could of came back to life because of someone or because he is immortal.
Then there was the guard or the gorilla which is his nickname that Jyugo gave him. This whole time the guard was working for his father. Now I don't know if it was just him working for his father or if there were more but he was pretty much there to keep an eye on him. He wasn't Jyugo friend or anything else. His job was just to keep an eye on him and follow orders that Jyugo father would give him.
Then there is Jyugo escape. After the shackles were off him and he got his memory back, he grab kuu which is the guard cat and teleported out of there into the man with the scar office. This is what made me question if the man with the scar was a good person or a bad person. I don't know anymore.
Everything I knew about this anime was a lie. It was all a lie and to think this was my favorite anime. Not gonna lie though this is a good twist as I would have never guess this. I just hated how it ended is all. I kind of wish the non cannon ending is the true ending and not this but you can't really change how an anime can end.
Sorry for the rant I just had to get this off my chest.
