"Akaira!! Get the attention of our classmates". I said.
She went to the front and stood up. "Akira has something to say!! Everyone, please sit down!!" she shouted. Her voice seemed toreverberate, echoing through the building.
Everyone scrambled to their seats, eager to hear what Akira had to say. "Miss Yen isn't here today; she has a fever. She said we can have recess and review on our own if we have time," I said.
The news was met with cheers as everyone prepared to leave, leaving the classroom in a flurry of excitement. I glanced over at Hanaki, still immersed in his slumber. Despite the commotion, he remained undisturbed.
Approaching him cautiously, I wondered if he could hear me over his headphones. With a mischievous grin, I decided to take the chance.
Closing the door and windows, I took a deep breath before speaking.
"You know, Hanaki, I don't just like you... because... I've loved you since way back. Since the day we met..." I confessed softly, stealing a glance outside to ensure our privacy.
Closing my eyes, I continued, "It's been a long time since I've felt this way... in the few months we've been classmates... I've cherished every moment with you."
Frustration bubbled within me as I lamented, "After all this time, I'm only telling you now, and you're still asleep."
Letting out a heavy sigh, I summoned my courage to speak my heart's truth.
"You know, even though you're like that... I love you so much... I promise, you're the only one I'll love!"
As I opened my eyes, I found Hanaki standing before me, his expression unreadable. His phone hovered in the air, capturing every word.
"Are you done?" he inquired, reaching out to gently grasp my hand.
I hesitated, unsure of how to proceed, but his touch anchored me in the moment.
"I love you too, but I never tried to confess to you. I've been looking at you every day because you look beautiful when you're serious," he confessed, his voice soft yet resolute.
Despite the weight of his words, a sense of relief washed over me as I embraced him, returning his affection.
"I love you, Akira," he whispered, his arms enveloping me in warmth.
Glancing at the windows, I realized our private moment had been captured by unseen eyes, a shiver running down my spine at the thought of our vulnerability.
As we parted, I couldn't help but feel a pang of embarrassment. "It's embarrassing, Hanaki," I admitted.
But he simply smiled, his gaze unwavering. "It's okay. Let them know about us," he reassured me, his unwavering confidence providing solace in the midst of uncertainty.
As we stood there, caught in the aftermath of our confessions, Akaira's playful voice shattered the silence.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she exclaimed, her eyes dancing with mischief as she approached us. "Looks like I stumbled upon a love story in the making!"
My cheeks flushed crimson as I exchanged a sheepish glance with Hanaki, who chuckled softly in response.
"Couldn't resist, could you, Akaira?" he teased, his tone lighthearted despite the intensity of the moment.
Akaira grinned mischievously, her playful demeanor infectious. "Of course not! I live for moments like these," she quipped, her gaze flitting between us.
Despite my embarrassment, I couldn't help but smile at her antics. With Akaira by our side, the tension melted away, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and shared laughter.
"Alright, alright, enough teasing," Hanaki said, his tone affectionate as he pulled me into a gentle embrace. "Let's head to class before we're late."
As we walked together, the weight of our confessions lingered in the air, but so did a newfound sense of closeness and understanding. And as we entered the classroom, hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected twists and turns that had led us to this moment.
As they stepped out of the classroom, Akira, Hanaki, and Akaira were met with the bustling energy of the school corridors. Students chatted animatedly, their voices blending into a cacophony of excitement and anticipation for the day's end.
Akira's heart swelled with gratitude as she glanced at her friends, their presence a comforting anchor amidst the chaos. With each step, she felt a renewed sense of purpose, fueled by the warmth of their companionship.
As they made their way towards the school gates, Akira found herself lost in thought, reflecting on the journey that had brought them together. From the moment she had first met Hanaki, to the unexpected confession that had unfolded that morning, every twist and turn had led them to this moment.
With a smile, Akira turned to Hanaki, her heart overflowing with affection. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.
Hanaki's eyes softened with understanding as he squeezed her hand gently. "For what?" he replied, his tone filled with warmth.
Akira's smile widened as she met his gaze. "For being you," she said simply, her words carrying the weight of her gratitude.
Beside them, Akaira grinned mischievously, her playful energy infectious. "Ah, young love," she teased, nudging Akira playfully. "I knew there was something brewing between you two!"
Akira couldn't help but laugh at her friend's antics, feeling a sense of lightness wash over her. Despite the uncertainty that lay ahead, she knew that with Hanaki and Akaira by her side, she could face anything that came her way.
As they reached the school gates, the warm embrace of the afternoon sun enveloped them, casting a golden glow over the world around them. With a shared glance, Akira, Hanaki, and Akaira stepped out into the bustling streets beyond, ready to embark on the next chapter of their journey together.
