The sun shone down on the huge piles of worker drone bodies. The bright light was everywhere, which trapped N and V alone in the small pod they'd called home for so many years. It was a little annoying, V couldn't sleep. She had nothing else to think about but, the boy hanging from the ceiling, sleeping. Her mind raced with questions, was she really being too hard on the kid? Maybe he only put up with her because he had to? She stared at his visor. "sleep mode" She read, the female shifted, crossing her legs on the chair she sat in for hours. Oh how weird it was to stare at someone she'd sworn to 'hate' for all these years. Every moment she spent pretending this guy was a nobody, someone she couldn't remember the name of. She knew it was all fake. She remembered his sweet words back in the manor. The way he stayed with her throughout everything. She blushed lightly, crossing her arms. She shifted her view to her lap. This was so dumb. She hated herself for thinking this, but she really thought she was losing the closest thing she's had to family.

BANG!

V yelped and looked up to see N, standing up. he was stretching. right then, he realized V. "V? what're you doing up so late?" The boy asked, his voice laced with worry. V looked out the tinted window of the pod and sighed. The chain around her neck jingling. "Just, thinking, N." She answered coldly. V moved her gaze to N. just as she saw his soft, caring expression. her eyes softened. "about what?" N asked with a step toward V. The female jerked back, but knowing N meant well she shook her head and settled backdown. "just ... stuff." she retorted. Her eyes flashing up and down N's form. "come on, V what's troubling you?" he pleaded and leaned against the control panel. "N?" V started considering her options. "it's just. we are stuck here. I don't want to do this anymore." she mumbled, shifting as she could feel herself cringe at her own words. The silence of N said it all, to her anyways. He didn't care, she knew it. Her eyes watered as she looked down at her lap again.

N stood breathless, he didn't want to lose V, the only girl he's ever loved, more than a sister, he'd spent so many hours with her, even if she was in a coma it was still something, to him. He knew this wasn't the best time to be thinking about this, but the way V spoke had him worried. "V.." N shakily put a hand on her shoulder, his tail wrapping around hers in attempt to cheer her up. "It's okay, V. everything will be fine. I'm here with you." he reminded her, he smiled at her, which caused her to smile back. Now, she was flustered. Unsure what to say, she put her hand on N's and lowered her head.

"i promise, everything gets better." N started again. " I don't know what I would do without you, V." the bigger drone smiled. V stood up without a word, the boy looked at her worried, he had said something wrong, but it was the complete opposite. V was on the verge of tears. She hadn't felt this loved in a long time. Her head, still hung she hugged N. Earning a soft yelp from the boy. "are you going to leave me for that emo oven?" she asked, her voice was croaked as she held back tears. "em- Uzi!?" everything V was saying now flooded to N.
"we may be stuck here, but we are stuck here together.", N said softly, tilting up V's face from her chin. Her eyes flicked between his eyes and his lips. And before she could open her mouth, he pulled her into a soft, deep kiss. She instantly melted into it. The way he touched her caused her to feel so safe in his arms. She wanted nothing more than to stay like this forever. But she knew the end of this moment was near. Right then N pulled away, searching V's face for any type of hesitance. He saw none. She stared at him lovingly, and boldly kissed his cheek, the two giggled before N undid her chain, for the first time in a while. The pair spoke and joked along, about everything they had been through, and are still having to deal with, and waited for the sun to finally set, and as it did, they sneak out and sat atop the heaps of workers who they had killed. Watching as Saturn became visible again. The millions of stars twinkled above the two as they lie back. holding each others hand.
