"HOLY SHIT! HOLY FUCKING SHIT! GEORGE! MAX! WAKE UP!"

It was five in the morning and Emily woke up her brother and Max by screaming in her living room. George and Max ran downstairs, half asleep dressed in their boxers and a t-shirt, looking utterly confused as they looked at Emily.

"What's going on?" George asked, looking panicked as he looked around, his usually perfectly styled hair a mess. 

"I've been nominated for the American Music Awards!" Emily said, her dark eyes wide. 

"What? That's incredible!" Max said, "how many nominations?"

"Er," Emily said, her eyes reading the screen, "nine!"

"What?!" George said, his eyes wide as he beamed, "I'm so proud Em! What are they for?"

"Er, artist of the year, favourite music video, favourite female artist for pop or rock, favourite artist for soul or R&B, favourite song for pop or rock, favourite album for pop or rock, favourite song for soul or R&B, favourite album for soul or R&B and favourite social artist," she said, a wide grin on her face as she looked at her brother and close friend. 

"Em, this is incredible," Max said as the brunette's eyes began to water. Max's face dropped as he looked at Emily. "Are you, are you alright?"

"Yeah," she said, her voice shaking as she smiled. "it's just, I never thought this album would get this much support."

"Well, we're so proud of you and the album," Max said as Emily looked at him and smiled. 

"Oh, and they want me to preform," she added as George and Max beamed. 

"What song?" George asked as Emily pursed her lips.

"I was thinking Emotional Bruises?" she asked as they both nodded.

"That would be perfect," George said as Emily smiled. 

"Okay, you guys can go back to bed," she laughed, "I feel really bad waking you guys up."

"Don't be," Max said smiling, "it was for a good reason." Emily smiled as the two looked at each other, George having a knowing grin on his face.
