The Barcelona race was over, and while the others were out in Australia celebrating, Matilda was sitting in her hotel room. She wasn't in the mood to party, she was in the mood to write. She was sitting in the bed, a baggy t-shirt and cycling shorts on with her long hair tied into a messy ponytail. She had her eyebrows furrowed as she had pieces of paper around her, all with scribbled writing on as she groaned in frustration.

Putting down the paper in her hand, she got her phone and clicked on Max's contact. After two rings, he picked up.

"Hey, what's up?" he asked.

"Are you busy right now?" she asked, pursing her lips.

"No," he said, "I stayed in my hotel. Everything okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, everything's okay," she said, "I need your help with something. A song I'm working on."

"Yeah, yeah I'm free," he said, "I'm on my way, meet you in ten."

"Okay, thanks, see you later," she said before hanging up the phone, and ten minutes later, there was a knock at her door. Matilda carefully got out of bed and opened the door to reveal Max, looking tied, standing there.

"Hi," he said as Matilda smiled.

"Hi," she said smiling, "come in." Max smiled in thanks before walking into her hotel room. Matilda shut and locked the door behind him while Max took his coat and shoes off.

"So, what's up?" he asked as Matilda smiled.

"I wrote a song," she said, smiling, "about the thing between me and Charles last year. There's nothing nasty, but it tells my side."

"Can I read it?" Max asked as Matilda smiled and nodded. The two sat on the bed and Matilda grabbed the papers.

"So, it's basically me telling a story," she said as Max read it, "and it helped me. It helped with the hurt he caused me."

"Tilda, this is really good," he said as he looked at the younger girl, "it's heartbreaking, but amazing." Matilda smiled at him.

"I've decided the album I make this year is going to be about what happened last year," she said, "it's going to be depressing as fuck, but I want people to know. I want them to know I am not this home-wrecker they think I am." Max smiled and nodded.

"I get you," he said, "I'm glad you're doing something positive about it. Not like me." Matilda chuckled as she looked at Max.

"Did you get in trouble for that?" Matilda asked, looking at Max.

"For yelling at him?" Max asked as the brunette nodded. "No, I just got a warning to keep my personal life out of my career."

"You didn't have to do that, you know?" Matilda asked as Max nodded.

"I know," he said, "I wasn't going to let you be called all that horrible stuff and he gets away with it. It ruins your reputation, potentially your career. He can get over it." Matilda smiled as she looked at Max.

"Thank you," she said smiling, "for doing that."

"I still have the letter you wrote when you told me that I was the only girl, you'd ever want in your life."

The brunette was in her studio back in her home in London, recording her new single, 'Reckless' while her brother was getting ready for his next race. There was a new virus going around, so Matilda opted for the safer choice to stay at her place.

"That was perfect Matilda," her manager and close friend, Elise, said over FaceTime video as the brunette smiled. "We should be able to get this released in the next couple weeks."

"Really?" Matilda asked, a grin on her pretty face.

"Really," Elise said smiling as Matilda grinned.

"Do we need to do any redo's of it?" the brunette asked.

"Not yet," Elise said, "take a break then we'll come back and go over it."

"Alright, thanks El," Matilda said, smiling as she hung up the phone before making her way to her large, cream living room and FaceTimed her brother. He picked up in a few seconds and the brunette grinned.

"Tilly, hi!" George said as the brunette smiled.

"Hi Georgie!" she said smiling.

"We have a slight issue," George said as Matilda furrowed her eyebrows.

"What's up?" she asked, sitting on her sofa.

"We're going into Lockdown today, it was just announced," he said as Matilda's face dropped.

"What?" she asked, reaching for her television remote and turned the TV on and listened to the announcement. "Oh shit."

"Can I ask you a big favour?" he asked as Matilda looked at him.

"What's up?" she asked.

"Can me and Max stay with you?" George asked, looking slightly nervous.

"Yeah, of course you guys can," she said smiling.

"Good, because we're outside yours now," he said, flipping the camera so it showed Emily's front door. Matilda laughed as she hung up the call and walked to her front door where she saw George and Max standing there with wide grins on their faces.

"Get in," she laughed, stepping aside to let them walk in.

"Your house is so nice," Max said, taking his shoes off at the door as the brunette smile.

"Thanks," she said, "cost me a fucking fortune." George, however, walked right into his sisters house like he owned the place and grabbed a can of coke from the fridge. "Yes, come in and help yourself to my food and drink."

"Thanks Ems," George said, sitting on the sofa as Matilda laughed.

"Alright," she said as she and Max walked into the living room, "there's enough rooms upstairs, pick one and that's yours. Mine is the biggest, obviously."

"Obviously," Max said, sitting down as the brunette sat in between him and her brother.

"You're going to have to put up with me and my singing," Matilda said as the two drivers grinned.

"Don't worry about us," George said smiling, "we love it."

"Just don't be dicks," Matilda laughed. She then turned to her brother. "How come you're not staying with Carmen?"

"We've had an argument," her brother said, "she told me she'll see me after Lockdown." Matilda nodded and rested her head on her brother's shoulder.

"You'll be okay," she said.

"Hey, how come you're still awake?"

It was three am and Matilda was sitting downstairs in her kitchen, drinking a cup of tea as she wrote in her notebook.

"Hey," Matilda said smiling as she turned around and looked at Max. She smiled and put her pen down.  "I couldn't sleep, how come you're still awake?"

"Same reason," he said, sitting next to her as she smiled. "Whatcha working on?"

"A new song," she said as she looked at the paper, "is it bad this album is going to be about Charles?"

"No," Max said as Matilda looked at him. "You were hurt badly, you couldn't even mourn the relationship because people would know." Matilda smiled as she looked down. "Do you miss him?"

"Sometimes," she admitted. "Is that wrong?"

"No," he said as she looked at him. "It's okay to miss the person you were in love with. It's not okay when it takes over your whole life." Matilda smiled as she looked at Max.

"How did you get to wise?" she joked as he chuckled.

"Born that way," he said as she smiled.
