We met casually at a bar down in Manhattan. I was drinking with a friend and I couldn't help noticing her drinking alone. She had beautiful long black hair and skin as pure and white as snow. She looked small in structure but her cold eyes made her feel giant. My friend who noticed me staring smirked and told me to talk to her. I expressed my objection but in the end, chose to maintain the distance as a man came up and shared a passionate embrace with her. From that moment I see those cold eyes of hers warm up and a smile fill her face. At that moment I couldn't help but think she was the most beautiful woman in this world. Eventually, they left and I was filled with disappointment. Although I tried to hide it, my friend who sees it tells me that there will be better women in the future for me. Despite my agreement I couldn't help but keep thinking about that smile she wore that warmed my heart. From there we pick up our tab and leave the bar. Now a week has passed since then and at the same bar she was alone once more. Sipping on a shot of whiskey with flushed cheeks and eyes that were puffed up from tears. As I approached her I asked the bartender for a drink and sat right next to her. She looked up from her drink and asked with a sharp tone "What do you want?" Surprised by her cold tone, I pulled out my handkerchief in my pocket and offered it to her. "It seems like you've been crying. And I can't ignore someone so lovely being marked with tears." A small smile filled her face and as she grabbed the handkerchief from my hand she blew her nose on it and threw it on my chest. "I'm not interested in a man who takes advantage of a girl's emotions," she said as she walked away and left the bar. I was so shocked by the interaction that the bartender handed me my drink and said it was free of charge. I chugged it straight down and ran out of the bar to find her. And once I noticed her crying on a bench alone once more. I once more approached her and stood in front of her. She looked up with her black iris eyes stained red from her tears and told me to leave her alone. I rejected her demand and before I could speak a taxi pulled up and she said goodbye as she closed the door on me. I sat down on the bench, defeated and shocked by this short interaction. Yet I couldn't help but give a small laugh to the air and think in my head "I hope that I can see her again." But it wasn't until July that I finally learned her name.
