The evening sun casts a warm, golden glow over Chavan Niwas, creating a serene contrast to the storm brewing inside. In the living room, the family was engaged in their usual chatter, sipping on amrut-chai and munching on evening snacks prepared by Karishma and Patralekha. Laughter and casual banter filled the air, masking the underlying tensions.
Upstairs, the atmosphere was anything but calm. Virat entered his bedroom, feeling the weight of the day's exhaustion settling on his shoulders. His face, usually a mask of composure, now reflected his inner turmoil. Sai stood by the window, her silhouette framed by the dimming light. She turned to face him, her expression a mix of concern and determination, to find out the reason behind his sudden transfer ...
Sai: (crossing her arms) Aap mujhe sachchai kyun nahi bata dete Virat sir ki aapko takleef hoti hain jab bhi aap samrat dada aur pakhi didi ko saath dekhte hain, isliye yeh transfer liya hain ...
Virat: (frustrated, running a hand through his hair) Tumhe toh sab pata chal jata haina, mere dimag mein kya chal raha hota hain, mere intentions kya hain nai? Jab tumhe vajah pahle pata hain mere transfer lene ke pichhe toh puchh kar apna aur mera samay kyun barbaad kar rahi ho...
Sai: (stepping closer, her voice rising) Main aapka samay barbaad kar rahi hoon? Aap sochte ho ke sab kuch samajh jaane par main chup ho jaaungi? Mujhe samajh nahi aata ke aap itne immature kyun ho gaye hain, Virat sir. Jab tak sach nahi bolenge, kuch bhi thik nahi ho sakta!
Virat: (raising his voice, eyes flashing) Tumhe lagta hai ki main immature hoon? Main ghar ke problems ko solve karte karte thak gaya hoon, Sai. Aur tumhe kya lagta hai? Tumhare bina yeh ghar chal jayega? Tumhe kya lagta hai, main khush hoon yeh sab dekh kar?
Sai: (sarcastically, hands on her hips) Haan, kyunki aap toh sab kuch samajhdar hote hue bhi sabse chupate hain. Aapne kabhi socha hain ki mere liye yeh sab kitna mushkil hai? Har roz ke taane, aur ab yeh transfer? Aap sirf apne baare mein sochte hain, kabhi meri feelings ka kya?
Virat: (defensive, stepping back) Tumhe lagta hai main sirf apne baare mein sochta hoon? Sai, main sab kuch balance karne ki koshish kar raha hoon. Tumhe pata bhi hai kitna stress hota hai? Aur yeh transfer, yeh sab tumhare liye bhi toh hai!
Sai: (hurt, her voice breaking) Mere liye? Yeh transfer mere liye hai? Aapko kya lagta hai, mujhe yeh sab chhod kar jaana asaan hai? Aap bas sab kuch door se dekhte hain, aur jab samasya ka samadhan nahi milta, toh bhaagne ka faisla kar lete hain.
Virat: (exasperated, pacing the room) Bhaagne ka faisla? Tumhe pata bhi hai main kya seh raha hoon? Har din tumhare aur ghar ke beech ka yeh sangharsh... yeh sab kitna mushkil hai?
Sai: (tears in her eyes, her voice softening) Aapko lagta hai ki main yeh nahi samajhti? Par kabhi socha hai ki main kya mehsoos karti hoon? Aapne kabhi mere perspective se socha hai? Har waqt aapki family ke taane, aapka cold behavior...
Virat: (softly, pausing in his tracks) Sai, main thak gaya hoon. Main bas shanti chahta hoon, aur agar yeh transfer se yeh possible hai, toh main yeh karunga.
Sai: (sadly, looking down) Agar aapko lagta hai yeh hi solution hai, toh theek hai. Par yeh samajh lijiye, Virat sir, ki humari problems ka solution bhaagne mein nahi hai. Humein mil kar inhe face karna hoga.
Virat looked away, unable to meet her gaze. The anguish in his heart mirrored the tears in her eyes. He knew she was right, but the weight of his responsibilities and emotions felt overwhelming. Sai wiped away her tears, silently hoping that things would change, that he would change.
The room fell silent, the tension palpable. Both stood there, grappling with their emotions, uncertain of what the future held for them. The golden light of dusk was fading, casting long shadows in the room, reflecting the distance growing between them.
