The riddle of the Guardian

After overcoming the perils of the Forest of Whispers, our heroes found themselves standing before the entrance to a mysterious temple, its ancient stone walls adorned with intricate carvings and glyphs.

As they stepped inside, they were greeted by a towering figure cloaked in shadow, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. This was the Guardian of the Temple, a sentinel tasked with protecting its secrets from those unworthy of its wisdom.

The Guardian spoke in a voice that echoed through the chamber like thunder, issuing a challenge to our heroes. "To prove yourselves worthy of passage," it intoned, "you must answer my riddle."

With furrowed brows and determined expressions, Arame, Renwil, and Urdim listened attentively as the Guardian posed its enigma:

"I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?"

The heroes exchanged puzzled looks, their minds racing to decipher the riddle. Each offered their own theories, but none seemed to satisfy the Guardian's challenge.

Time seemed to stand still as they pondered the elusive answer, the weight of the Guardian's gaze bearing down upon them. Suddenly, Arame's eyes lit up with recognition as she whispered the solution: "An echo!"

A triumphant smile spread across the Guardian's face as it nodded in approval. "Correct," it boomed, its voice reverberating through the chamber. "You have proven yourselves worthy. Proceed, and may the wisdom of the temple guide you on your journey."

With a sense of accomplishment and relief, our heroes ventured deeper into the temple, eager to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within its ancient halls. Little did they know, their greatest trials still awaited them, and the true test of their strength and courage was yet to come. But with the memory of their victory over the Guardian to bolster their spirits, they pressed onward, united in purpose and determined to fulfill their quest to find the elder wumpus and unlock the mysteries of Discordia.
